"We were here in October for a getaway and reunion with my sister. We enjoyed our stay very much and the weather was mostly kind to us. The home is clean and cozy and the deck is wonderful. If I had to give a downside, it probably has mostly to do with the site. I feel the fees are deceiving. We got a quote for 2 nights , but upon looking way down the page it states that a 2 night stay was more than quoted. When I checked my account, I also found an additional charge. The owner didn't give me a total when I called to make the reservations, so I was surprised. The site says No hidden fees. When I called to inquire about the charges, I was told about the difference in price and the additional cleaning fee. To me this is rather deceiving and I think it should be reflected on this site or stated at the time of the reservation or at least on the confirmation email. I would definitely stay here again, but I would ask more questions, so I know what to budget for."

"Thanks Wendy! This is such a great house way up on a hill overlooking Brookings. The house is not terribly hard to find but it is very high on the hill. There is enough space for any size group and every room has a tremendous view. There are no curtains or blinds on any of the windows which is a little odd, especially in the bedrooms. However, since there are not really any close homes, it really isn't a privacy issue."

"Our first reaction when we walked through the door was, "Look at that view!" it was absolutely breathtaking. The main living area was spacious and perfect for our group and we enjoyed our stay.
However, there are a few things I feel should be noted for future travelers to be aware of when they are making their choice about where to stay and what to bring.
Kitchen : Although there are plenty of plates, cups, pots & pans there wasn't a full set of silverware. We found this very frustrating and ended up buying some to use the week we stayed. Only 1 1/2c. measuring cup...Also the kitchen knives were very dull and unsafe. Our second to last day we found a brand new set in the closet by the half bath....why weren't they put out in the first place?
Cleaning Supplies: There wasn't a dustpan! So weird. We ended up making one out of a paper plate. I would think that a homeowner would encourage renters to clean up after themselves by providing the proper tools. Also, There wasn't a vacuum. When I called the property management about both of these issues they did bring over a vacuum the next day but the vacuum was broken so really no help.
No trash bags provided, we bought our own. We've rented many beach houses over the past 15 years. This was a first for us.
Linens : If you're staying with a group over 5 bring your own washcloth. Not enough provided.
Safety: The bed frame in the master bedroom was made to have a footboard attached to it. There is no footboard and so the metal frame sticks out and up quite a few inches from the mattress it is very sharp and was hidden behind the bedspread. My 81 year old mother gashed her leg on it. The property management again didn't seem to think it was a big deal. It really is a safety issue so beware!
Mold on the blinds and in the bathroom...
Grill was very dirty and a fire hazard...we cleaned it as best we could.
Listing photos and real life inconsistencies : No table on the deck but there are some nice chairs. No TV in Master Bedroom. Bunk beds in 3rd bedroom have been separated to make two separate beds which makes the room very crowded.
General Comfort : There are no dressers in any of the bedrooms and only a couple of hangers in each closet. Again, we had to provide our own which was a first for us.
Overall this is a nice home that could be great with a few more homey touches and a few things that we've come to expect as a given when renting vacation homes."

"When we got to the home after driving all night to get there. It was easy to find, just what we had expected, and offered more than what we needed for a place to stay. the house is well cared for, the kitchen has everything for a large group or not. the light switches are all marked for location throughout the home. We will be returning every year, and maybe twice a year now. The house is centrally located to all the activities that this part of the area has to offer. The beach, rivers, hiking, entertainment, shopping. the Red Woods in California, and many more places than we had experienced. All in all you couldn't ask for a nicer home to stay at. the beds were extremely comfortable, the bedrooms were conveniently located throughout the home and the bathrooms very clean.
We rate this rental home a "10" across the board!"
