  • GIRS WEEKEND AT THE COAST

"The pictures do not do this home justice. We six women who come to the coast once to twice a year found this home to be one of our favorites. Very clean. large rooms, lots of towells, blankets, pillows and the kitchen was well stocked. We took awesome pictures out by tree. Made Smores on outside firepit. Hottub was clean perfect temp. Ocean sounds with open windows created a peaceful stay. Short drive to Harris Beach to walk on beach as the home is on a high cliff., Also Fred Meyer is 5 min away. Perfect Beach house. Would not reccommend for families for small children as the cliff is in back yard. not fence. Must be adults only."

  • Three of us in the Rockhouse

"We rented the Rockhouse for a week in early August and really enjoyed it. Loved swimming and fly fishing in the Chetco, interacting with all the animals, (sheep wrangling, especially!), picking fresh blackberries every morning, local hikes and walks, enjoying the coast, etc. etc. There is no Wifi in the Rockhouse, so if you need to stay in contact with the outside world, it's a bit of a challenge (and only possible if you stand in the back outside the Big House). Also, no cell phone service or TV. But, if you WANT to disconnect...this is a great place to do it. The caretakers (Kat and Oscar) are wonderful people and their positive "vibe" and generosity really add to the experience. One thing I would note: if you're needing to do a lot of cooking, the Rockhouse kitchen is quite small (no microwave) and not particularly well-equipped in terms of kitchen utensils, though well stocked for cups, plates, silverware, etc. (For example, no kitchen tongs, no measuring cup, no good knife for cutting veggies or meats.) But these are small inconveniences and if you're prepared with your own kitchen "must haves" you'll be fine. One addition to the house that would be awesome would be screen doors, so you can keep the front and side doors open and really bring the outside in, while keeping the mosquitoes and flies out! I would definitely recommend the Rockhouse for people who want unplug and take a break from the world. (I didn't miss listening to NPR for one minute!)"

  • Funtimes

"Great view, great cooking opportunities, quiet, amazing well-groomed path to beach. The owners are very attentive and the condo was very clean. Will go back again especially when the tide is low."

  • Best vacation

"We were so happy to find a beautifully clean and updated home away from home. We had everything there that we needed to make our stay so special. We really thank you for the high quality choices in your home. We are already trying to plan when we can come back."
