Recent Gold Beach reviews

  • Gary Glenn

"The Blue Heron was the rendezvous point for our kids (and grandkids) from L.A. and us web-foots from Seattle. Perfect accommodation for our family of eight, the home was comfortable and thoroughly equipped and provided handy access to the beach. The beach felt like a private luxury and one of the locals said it was rarely crowded. The Rogue River Jet boat ride and wildlife encounters were a big hit for us all. I thought the management and staff were exceptionally polite and business like to deal with."

  • Attractive, pet friendly, comfortable

"Great, great access to beach! 3 bedrooms, bathrooms, living room extremely comfortable. Community of townhomes friendly, but not too many around during week. The property was accurately represented in pictures and verbiage, which was greatly appreciated. Property was clean and well-maintained. They even provided Trek bikes for us to ride, which impressed us considerably. We love the town of Gold Beach and surrounding beaches, so this property was excellent for that."

"We, too, experienced loud music from the neighbor. I wrote to the newspaper and filled a complaint with the Sheriff's office to no avail. If you want peace and quiet, find some other place."

From midsummer to late fall, crab are prevalent in the Gold Beach area. All you have to do is rent a crab ring from The Rogue Outdoor Store and you'll enjoy the most memorable meal of your life when you're done, whether cooked for you by the locals or in the private kitchen available in many Gold Beach rentals.

Take in the Culture that Lodging at Gold Beach Offers

Every year spring brings about Gold Beach's annual Wine, Art, and Music Festival and the Goldrush Art Festival. Visit in the fall to take in the Brew and Art Fest or the Festival of Quilts. In between you can enjoy local art galleries, museums and handmade crafts.

Outdoor Recreation at Southern Oregon Coast Cottages

Gold Beach is well-known for its Jet Boat Tours along the Rouge River. Considered a "must do" between the months of May and October, visitors have the option of 64, 80, or 104 round trip miles through the Rogue River wilderness, which is only accessible by jet boat. The longer the trip you take, the more wild and beautiful the scenery.
