  • Delightful!

"Our review echoes what is already on the site: this cottage is adorable, updated, well-maintained, pleasantly quiet and comfy. We ended up having our adult daughter with us and Sarah and Shady graciously provided bed linens and blankets so that our queen-size aerobed which we put in the living area would be comfortable. Truth be told, it was a bit crowded for three adults (but perfect for two, so we'll definitely be back by ourselves) though we certainly managed for the duration of our stay. We had occasion to cook in the kitchen and found everything we needed to do so, although the space would be a bit tight for anyone wanting to do a lot of fancy stuff. The fridge was full size and very clean, as was everything in the cottage. We really loved the design and the space utilization in the small but efficient bathroom. There was good lighting and ventilation everywhere and we appreciated the clever nighttime/daytime blinds in bathroom and bedroom. The cottage is as cute as the pictures - not the case with every VRBO/HomeAway property we've visited. Sarah and Shady were delightful hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them. Can't wait to return! P.S. Once we parked the car, we didn't use it again at all as everything we wanted to do was within easy walking distance (and on pretty flat terrain which is not the case in some places in Ashland)."

  • Nice Place in Ashland

"A great place. Everything is nice: the host, the garden, and the rooms. And it is a nice walk into town. Highly recommended."

  • Stunning Details!

"On my recent trip, I was unexpectedly surprised with the peace and tranquility the home. The attention to detail and the beauty of the house is unsurpassed in this enclave of places to rest your weary bones. From the authentic antiques to the hand painted ceilings, to the modern art this is the place to stay in Ashland!"

  • Very Peaceful and Beautiful - Inside and Out!

"My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and it was an amazingly satisfying experience. Located 15 min from Ashland up a winding road with nice vistas going to and from, it is set in a "bowl" that insulates it from sounds and views, providing incredible privacy. No barking dogs, no loud neighbors or traffic - just very peaceful and quiet. The air is also so clean that we slept better and longer than we normally do. As others have already noted, the cottage is outfitted with beautiful furniture and textile art crafted by the hosts and you can also purchase items if you like. It is like staying in an art gallery but having all the conveniences of a well appointed home. There are so many thoughtful touches and we really felt at home, so much that we'd purchase this cottage in a hurry if it ever came on the market (unlikely). Being without TV for 5 days was also refreshing although you have full WiFi connectivity (via satellite, somewhat slower than broadband via cable and also prone to weather outages as is any satellite-based communication or TV system). It was a bit chilly in the evenings and we even had snow on evening (in mid-April!). The hosts provided ample firewood and resupplied us without us asking - very thoughtful. The fireplace heats up the whole house to the point it becomes "toasty" so no issues with keeping it warm. Large kitchen area with all modern tools and very well equipped cabinets, utensil drawers and appliances. We recommend it highly to anybody visiting southern Oregon, and the location is very good for visiting the areas many wineries, Dagoba chocolate factory/shop, very nice restaurants and of course the theaters of Ashland, famous for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Finally, the cottage is located about 30 minutes from Medford/Rogue Valley Airport (code: MFR), with easy flights to Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, among others. We certainly hope to come back one day again!"
