"This was my second stay in Lisa's "Sweet Little Garden Studio", and was even more enjoyable than the first time. The Spring flowers were coming into bloom in her garden and it was most relaxing to sit on the porch in the sun. Really a delightful place for one person or a couple with one suitcase. (see previous review) Lisa is a delightful hostess and the cottage is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Hope to be back again. Loved my stay!"

"We enjoyed our stay immensely at the Riverwood Cottage. Tim and Diane are the consummate hosts. We were so comfortable and the cottage contained everything we needed for a pleasant, relaxing stay on the river. We enjoyed relaxing outside on the deck watching the river and wildlife and being close to so many activities. We will definitely visit again!"

"A wonderful place surrounded by vineyards and forest. The house was very clean and well furnished. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to enjoy the piece and quiet of the countryside."

"First impression when walking in River House at North Umpqua Retreat is WOW! The view of the river is amazing. Owner Rich is a kind, gracious and accommodating host. He was always available if we needed anything and offered ideas and suggestions for things to do. His house is wonderfully renovated, retaining the charm of it's era. Everything is clean, neat and very well organized and maintained. Kitchen is well stocked with just about any appliance, cookware or serving piece you could possibly want or need. Beds are comfortable (with extra blankets and pillows) and plentiful - there was a surprise overflow bed in the laundry room, which came in handy for us. Deck overlooking river has table and comfortable chairs for outside dining. There is also a covered patio with table, chairs and hammock for lounging. Rich has created a path down to the river, for easy access. It is well maintained as there was no poison oak to be seen. The river is swift and there are some rapids, but also a nice swimming hole and rocks to walk on and sit out on. We spent a lot of time on the river, swimming, fishing, catching crawdads, and exploring. We enjoyed day hikes at the nearby waterfalls and drove to Diamond Lake and Crater Lake but really, there is no need to leave River House. We spent mornings gazing at the river, watching the birds, ducks and looking for the buck that walked by daily. Evenings were spent looking at the star-filled sky. Rich has a little piece of heaven in his North Umpqua properties. We loved staying there and look forward to another visit next year."
