  • The Perfect Cottage!

"Every year for the past 9 years, my girlfriends and I (there are 5 of us) plan a getaway. Our stay in the Duncan Cottage was wonderful and one of the best vacation rentals we've stayed in! (We have experienced our share of nightmare vacation rentals, trust me!) Located right in the heart of Jacksonville, everything was within walking distance...shopping, restaurants, coffee (the cottage is about a block from Good Bean coffee shop which has fantastic coffee and homemade pastries and bagels to die for). The cottage was perfect for the 5 of us and proved to be quaint and cozy. The beds were comfortable, the fully equipped kitchen gave us the option to stay in and make meals if we didn't feel like dining out, and, I have to admit, I even loved the decor of the cottage! Arlis Duncan, one of the owners, was so easy to work with and professional. I highly recommend staying at Duncan Cottage.....I know we will again in the future!"

  • Great stay in the Blue Heron House

"We had a great four night stay in the Blue Heron House. Our host, Rich, was friendly and introduced us to the cabin's features such as the wood stove. The cabin was impeccably clean and well-appointed. We had a great time exploring the nearby North Bank Habitat Management Unit, as well as some waterfalls, the colliding rivers, and the small town of Glide, not to mention the beautiful North Umpqua River in the backyard! This won't be our last trip to the Blue Heron House!"

  • Everything is here!

"There were 4 of us who shared 3 nights in this well-appointed, comfortable cabin. The grounds were lovely and with the bonus of a full moon on the water, we had spectacular views by day and night. We enjoyed the quiet, the wildlife, the fishing. This place offered a great jump-off point for biking and hikes as well. It was the perfect place for a long, quiet-yet-active weekend. We will return!"

  • Relaxing weekend at cozy cabin

"Our family of four, including two teenage girls, spent a happy and relaxing weekend at this cozy cabin. It is less rustic than I expected from the description, with an updated kitchen and satellite TV (which I am happy to say we did not use!). The comfy leather couch and recliners were a perfect place to sit and read with the morning sun pouring in the windows before it warmed up enough to move outside to the porch or the garden. During the days, we hiked a stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail and visited Crater Lake, a beautiful 1.5 hour drive to the north. In the evenings, we drove down the hill to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a bit of a slog but well worth it on both ends. Back at the cabin, the night sky was breathtaking. Thanks also to Randy for his helpfulness in getting my daughter's bassoon back to us when we overlooked it during our last-minute packing up."
