"This place was spectacular. Within an easy walk to downtown Ashland, there was a beautiful fenced backyard, which provided a couple of terrific tomatoes for my breakfast bagel one morning. Two sumptuous bedrooms and a spa like bathroom. The living room/kitchen wasn't the best layout, but it was comfortable and serviceable for breakfast. There was a great deck, with a grill, which we didn't use but could be terrific - to sit in the yard with steaks and wine; quite peaceful.
We were two couples and never felt cramped. All in all it was a luxurious five days. By the way, we got a tour from the owner - who was terrific - of the single bed space, which was just as beautiful and with an even better kitchen and bath. Certainly worth a romantic return trip. We highly recommend this spot as it made our stay even better."

"My friends from California and I made a very last minute decision to spend a week in Oregon, and we feared we'd really have to "settle" for any old shack we could find that was available. Not so! This house was perfect for our needs and possessed the perfect balance of remoteness and access to services, not to mention the close proximity to all kinds of great vineyards and local farms. We ate at Peace of Pizza twice, which was delicious, and any basic food supplies can be found at the Applegate Store & Cafe. Jacksonville is a pleasant 20-25 minute drive, and Ashland is only a bit further with all sorts of shops and restaurants. We were three adults and two kids (ages 6 and 8), and a great time was had by all. Tubing and fishing on the Applegate, playing pool, watching movies, popping popcorn in the old fashioned popcorn popper, etc. The house was extremely comfortable and lacked for nothing. I highly recommend it, especially for groups as there are so many different places to hang out in the house."

"Spent a week here with siblings and in-laws. Each couple got a room and there was plenty of space to gather, to cook & eat together and to get away for some quiet time. View is spectacular, short drive to theaters & restaurants, hot tub is devine."

"My family stayed at what we call "The River House" for five days in July, 2015. This was our third stay. The house is absolutely lovely with three beautifully furnished bedrooms. The kitchen is well-designed for more than one cook and has everything needed for preparing meals. The back deck is huge; a great place for family get-togethers. My grandchildren enjoy the large lawn for baseball games and love the private beach and floating down the Umpqua River. We definitely plan a fourth stay in the future."
