  • Charming!

"This is my second stay at Stone's Throw Bungalow and I hope to make it an annual visit. The cottage is charming, the private garden delightful and the owner gracious and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shakespeare Festival, the excellent restaurants and good shopping in Ashland in addition to the beautiful Oregon countryside. Karin, thank you for sharing your pretty cottage and garden."

  • Basic and Comfortable

"The house was nice and fit our needs well. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a home base while we visited Crater Lake. A couple of things I didn't realize before booking were: It's on a main road. There isn't traffic since it's so far out, but I brought my dogs with me and I was nervous letting them out at night off leash. There weren't many cars, so it didn't change my opinion of the house at all. I just didn't realize it when I booked the house since I had never been there. It's next door to a little hotel/inn. We built a fire one night and the neighbors staying in the hotel came over and said that the hotel usually lets all of the guests share the fire and yard space. There were also people staying there that walked their dogs in the morning through the yard of the house (which made our dogs go crazy every time). Basically it's not as private as we expected. There is no cell service and the house doesn't have wireless. There is no TV either. That can be nice, obviously. But there is no house phone either, so if there is an emergency, I'm not really sure what would happen. None of those things are deal breakers for us though. Tim was really nice and helpful and the house was a good value. It's just good to know those 3 things before you get there though, in case something is a deal breaker for you."

  • Great Vacation home

"We are a family of 6 and we stayed for 3 days (only…) during August 2014. We have enjoyed the house. The part we liked the most is that it is very well equipped with all you will need for a vacation home (spices, different sauces in the fridge, tea, baking products, oils, soap and shampoo in every bath etc.) so actually all you will need to bring is the fresh supplies and your clothes. The house is very clean as well and gives you a feeling of home. When we arrived (late at night) we found a note saying the BBQ is out of order. Later that night we found that the microwave did not worked as well. The next morning I contacted the land lady and by the next evening we had a new BBQ and a new microwave installed!! That for me tells it all - thank you for that. The one down side in our stay were the Midges. On our way the first night our car was literally covered with them and during the night you could not open a window as they would swarm to the lights even through the window screens. Even during the day they were hovering all over (although they do no bite or anything) and are a huge nuisance. Don’t know how – but try to avoid that time of the year. We were unable to enjoy the surroundings of the house or the beautiful deck (although we could see the birds come to feed). As others wrote the location is great for both Crater Lake and the Lava beds and if you are a golfer – it is the best - as it is located within the golf course. Highly recommended."

  • Great place!

"The studio was a perfect fit.It is located on a quiet street in a residential area and allows you a nice walk to the park. Also,it is a short drive to food, grocery stores, and anything else a person would need. The property is clean and well maintained. Everything to make your stay comfortable has been provided. It was a pleasure to meet Tina, she is a great host."
