"Absolutely loved staying here. This was our 3rd time staying at Idas Cottage and we hope to do this annually. The Cottage is always very clean and comfortable. Its within walking distance to downtown Jacksonville, including coffee shops, antique stores and restaurants. It's in a quiet neighborhood and has all the amenities."

  • Fantastic Stay

"We stayed in this stylish top floor condo for seven months while considering whether to move to Ashland. We couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s filled with light, has a great layout, and is tastefully furnished. It has a warm cozy feel, but also seems bigger than its square footage. The main living/ dining area has the best Mt. Ashland view in town, and opens onto a wonderful terrace where we loved to sit and soak in the beauty! Kitchen and bathrooms are high quality. Despite the cold winter months the heating system kept us warm as toast. One of the things we liked best was the fact that we could walk out the door and in a few minutes be strolling along Bear Creek and through Mountain Meadows Park. It was just a short bike ride to downtown or the Ashland/Medford bike trail. Landlords Kathi and David, long-time fixtures in the Ashland community, made us feel very welcome and were attentive to all our needs (although frankly the place was so problem free we didn’t have to bother them much). If you’re looking for a nice pied-a terre while you get to know Ashland this place is a gem."

"This house is located on a beautifully situated property that includes a meadow great for viewing deer, elk, raptors, and smaller birds such as wrens and hummingbirds. The house itself needs serious TLC, but the floor plan is interesting and unique. Allow plenty of time to get into Ashland, as you must traverse almost four files of extremely curvy and dusty dirt road before you get to pavement. Then you have several miles to go before getting into downtown. DO NOT bring toddlers to this place. If you and your family are interested in a unique experience amidst a beautifully forested area and do not mind the long haul into Ashland, give this place a try. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but the place is not for everyone."

  • Awesome

"The cabin is clean and well "stocked". Good quality towels, which sounds like strange thing to comment on but considering we weren't sure there would even be towels and brought our own, it was really pleasant surprise. Cookware in the kitchen was good quality as well, sort of expected it to be cheap throw away stuff but again it was another pleasant surprise. Plenty of maps and brochures about local activities. Cabin was really clean upon arrival and the internet was fast enough to stream Netflix after a long day of hiking. They have a small wide screen 480i tv with a DVD player and some DVD's, maybe 12 or so, all a little on the sad side though. We bought X-men for $6 in Medford on a day trip and watched that! The little gazebo like structure next to the cabin was great for outdoor eating. The creek next too was a great feature, bubbling along. Great for relaxing with a cold beer. We even caught a small fish, quite by accident/we released it, with the small childs fishing rods they provide with the cabin. Plenty of room for kids to run around and play. Just a great experience all around. Only downside was no cell service for me (T-Mobile) or the wife (Sprint), I know...not exactly the two greatest carriers but still something to be aware of. But then're on vacation! You can use the cabin Wi-Fi to Facebook or email :)"
