  • Interesting Place to Stay

"A group of California Shakespeare visitors we decided to stay in Jacksonville for a change. The Judge Hanna House suited us very well, but keep in mind this is an OLD house and shows it in many ways, for example there is no bathroom for the two bedrooms upstairs, the kitchen and one bathroom w/shower is downstairs and the second bathroom is on the same floor as the living room. The master suite on the main floor was very large with a bathroom/shower. Things were clean and the beds comfortable. We found the kitchen suitable for either bringing in food or making a meal from scratch. Easy walking distance to Historic Jacksonville with fun shopping and good dining. Runners and walkers will appreciate the trails in Brit Gardens just across the street. This property could use some loving care and a few more chairs. Rumor has it the house is haunted, but we didn't see any ghosts! We'd stay again."

  • Everything you could ever need for a vacation rental and more

"We have rented this property 3 times now, so you can imagine the fact that we are repeat renters says it all. First of all, the house is beautiful and obviously crafted with love. It is located in a gorgeous part of Grants Pass up on a hill nestled between trees and pastures. The scenery is so beautiful you could stay on the property the entire vacation and never grow tired of the sites (in fact, we did do that one year and had a blast). It is always the same group of people, 3 families (6 adults and 4 children), but for some reason the layout of the house is so well thought out that we never seem crowded. We cooked all of our meals and the house is stocked with whatever cooking utensil you could ever need, from plates to glasses to pots and pans. One night we decided to make a cake and needed a springform cake pan, and guess what, they had 2 of them! Then we decided to make the kids popcorn and guess what, they had an old timey popcorn popper! The only thing i could say this house needs is sharper knives and a sponge for washing dishes. I would recommend this property for anyone, as it has something for every disposition. Peace and quite? Check. Close to wineries? Check. A room filled with videos and games for children and adults? Check. Close to downtown? Mostly check, but hey, who needs to go downtown when you're at the Woodland?"
