  • Awesome Girly Weekend Getaway!

"My sister-in-law and I stayed at Country View Cottage for the weekend and had a great time. The outside of the cottage doesn't prepare you for the beautifully decorated inside! Very modern with granite counters in the kitchen, comfy couch and loveseat in the living room and very comfortable beds! I had read that the pillows left something to be desired and was disappointed when I found that I had forgotten to bring mine, but found that the pillows were great! The only drawback for us was that we rented a movie when we were in town and got back to find that there wasn't a DVD player...we found a suitable chick flick on cable and were good to go with the lovely bottle of wine that the owners so generously left as a welcome gift! I've stayed in a lot of VRBO places, and this is a first! Very nice touch indeed! The weather was great, the view was great, we played Bocci Ball across the street and had an amazing time eating and shopping in both Carlton and McMinnville. We would both highly recommend Country View Cottage and already plan to make this a yearly destination for our girly weekend getaway! This place is super clean to boot...a high priority for me! Thanks for making our stay wonderful and relaxing!"

  • Wonderful Stay Great Location

"We really enjoyed this charming cottage. The location was excellent for exploring wine country. We walked to Henry's down the street for breakfast every morning although the kitchen was beautiful and well-equipped. Just down the street is Milo's for ice cream, The Radish for cocktails and watching football and The Republic of Jam for delicious tastings and perfect holiday gifts to bring home."

  • Wine tasting weekend

"We have stayed at several home rental places in the US and Europe and Carlton Gates is as good or better than any we have ever encountered. The property was exactly as advertised and the owner was responsive to a variety of questions. This is a wonderful spot a few short blocks from 'downtown' Carlton. We were in the area with 12 friends for wine tasting over the weekend. Seven of us stayed at Carlton Gates. On Saturday we had a dinner party for all 14 people and it was an ideal arrangement. The dining room accommodated 10 nicely and the kitchen island and other seating provided enough space for those not at the table. The remodeled house is nicely furnished with a thoughtful floor plan. Comfortable beds and other amenities, including appliances, the televisions and sound systems made for an excellent experience. The back yard is terrific, but we did not make use of it due to the weather. We definitely recommend this place. The description of the property is thorough and accurate. Anyone looking for lodging for 4-8 people will find The Gates to be most comfortable. Exceeded our expectations."

  • great option for your stay in beautiful Carlton

"My father and I stayed at this house during our two night visit to Carlton. The house was as advertised, and though we didn't try every feature, everything that we used worked great, including the internet. We would stay here again. A couple of things to note - make sure you bring your own shampoo/conditioner, and if you are an extremely light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as it is on a fairly busy road (as are nearly all of the possible places to stay in Carlton)."
