  • Wine Country Escape

"My husband, mother, dog, and I stayed at Crawford Crest over Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful time. The property is absolutely gorgeous and was a great place to relax after a day of wine tasting. Our dog really enjoyed all of the open space to run around and play in. Joni and Kip were wonderful hosts, answering all of our questions and making great restaurant recommendations. The cottage itself is beautifully updated and well appointed with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It felt like we were away from it all, yet we were still very close to the conveniences of downtown Newberg. If we ever come back to the area, we (and especially our dog!) would certainly love to stay here again."

  • A Relaxing Visit

"My family of 3 visited A Peaceful Sanctuary for an extended weekend and enjoyed our time spent on Pam's farm. The house is very quaint, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed getting to know Pam and the animals. I know way more about chickens now than I did before, and the alpacas are adorable creatures. I particularly enjoyed the story of Dick Smothers of the Smothers Brothers staying there, and watching the Smothers Brothers DVD. It was like watching a time capsule from the 60's. The house is not in the center of town, but it is very easy to get there. We had an enjoyable time."

  • Beautiful setting! Beautiful home! Excellent experience!

"My boyfriend and I traveled from Columbus, OH to Oregon without any definite plans of where we were going to stay and when. I found this house on VRBO and decided to give it a shot based on the location. We wanted to be close to the mountains, but not so far from Portland that we'd have to drive forever to get back to the airport. The owner, Cindy, was incredibly quick and helpful with her email responses, and got us in quickly. The house is located right on the river, just as depicted in the photos, and is even more beautiful in person. It was much larger than we expected, and for the price was a great deal. It's location allows for peace and privacy, yet is not so far off the beaten path that you have to travel very far from the nearest highway. The house was STOCKED. Pretty much anything and everything you could ask for was supplied. There were beach towels, dvds, and even a basement practically full of board games. This would be a great place for a family to stay for a few nights! The house was incredibly clean and well decorated. Cindy even supplied a little binder with information on what to do and see in the area. We went and hiked at Opal Creek, which was gorgeous! Thanks again for everything. We had such a good time."

  • Annual Couples Getaway

"Three couples shared this wonderful property and we were all thrilled with how the house lived up to its billing on the VRBO site. There was plenty of room for us and some additional guests for dinner. We all agreed that the large island was one of our favorite places to gather. The backyard was great for playing games, grilling, and just sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows for s'mores. We walked into town several times and enjoyed discovering Carlton from this lovely location. We would recommend that an extra roll of paper towels be left in the kitchen as well as some extra light bulbs for the bathrooms. Unfortunately, the propane gas tank was out of gas when we wanted to grill, but Michele quickly responded and said if we wanted to fill the tank up she would give us a check to cover our inconvenience. We hope to return in the future and have recommended this home to friends who also enjoy Oregon wine country."
