  • Awesome Girly Weekend Getaway!

"My sister-in-law and I stayed at Country View Cottage for the weekend and had a great time. The outside of the cottage doesn't prepare you for the beautifully decorated inside! Very modern with granite counters in the kitchen, comfy couch and loveseat in the living room and very comfortable beds! I had read that the pillows left something to be desired and was disappointed when I found that I had forgotten to bring mine, but found that the pillows were great! The only drawback for us was that we rented a movie when we were in town and got back to find that there wasn't a DVD player...we found a suitable chick flick on cable and were good to go with the lovely bottle of wine that the owners so generously left as a welcome gift! I've stayed in a lot of VRBO places, and this is a first! Very nice touch indeed! The weather was great, the view was great, we played Bocci Ball across the street and had an amazing time eating and shopping in both Carlton and McMinnville. We would both highly recommend Country View Cottage and already plan to make this a yearly destination for our girly weekend getaway! This place is super clean to boot...a high priority for me! Thanks for making our stay wonderful and relaxing!"

  • Unplug, reconnect and recharge

"This hidden gem exceeded all of our expectations. My wife and I wanted a place to unplug, reconnect, and recharge. We made our reservations in the summer and spent the rest of the year looking forward to the trip. It started with a forecast of inches of rain (okay by us) and a call from the owner letting us know about the hot water pump problems the previous reviewer noted. We received regular updates during our drive on the status of the repairs, and by the time we arrived, the problem had thankfully been resolved. The owner noted that she was recovering from surgery. Perhaps that was a factor in the previous reviewer's experience? In any case, we arrived just before dark and found the cabin to be as described - nestled in the woods on the banks of the McKenzie and delightfully secluded. The hot tub had already been filled and was just the right temperature upon our arrival. This is not your ordinary hot tub! The cedar tub is situated in woods, perched above a tributary stream and overlooking the river. You reach the tub from the cabin by descending a short flagstone-paved path and crossing a cute bridge over the tributary. Robes were provided to make the trip out and back more comfortable. Inside, we enjoyed the cabin's unique architecture, thoughtfully-placed windows, french doors, and ample amenities. The cabin was clean and the care taken by previous renters was clear. The heat - all three forms of it - was more than ample. Beware the heated floors... my wife is now convinced that we need to install heat in our own floors! The television is small by modern standards and not well-placed for viewing from the couches, but it is perfectly adequate for watching a movie in the evening (there is a DVD player) and doesn't detract from the overall experience in the way that a modern large-screen TV might. This is a place to snuggle up and read by the wood stove, sip a glass of wine together on the deck, contemplate the passing river, and unwind in the hot mineral waters. In the warmer, dryer months this would make a great home base for exploring the many outdoor attractions of the McKenzie River, McKenzie Pass, and Santiam Pass. Of the cabins and B&Bs my wife and I have explored in Oregon thus far, this one is our favorite. It offers indulgent amenities without pretentious luxury or commercialism. We'll be back!"

  • Great place to spend our nights

"We were looking for a rental that was convenient to children for our visit at Christmas. Anne's Cottage fit the bill perfectly. It was less than a mile away, very clean and comfortable, included a washer/dryer and free wifi. Thea was very accessible for any questions we might have. The master bedroom had a very comfortable king bed and large bath. The second bedroom had a queen and the third had a futon bed. Our granddaughter stayed one night and enjoyed the toys in the closet. We will definitely keep Anne's Cottage in mind if we have the need on a return visit to Eugene."

  • Great house, Great location!!!

"We really enjoyed our time here. The house was very comfortable, large living room and dining room made it feel just like home. The location was great! Beautiful views, visit from deer roaming around and close to lots of winery's. We really needed more time to hit them all. We will be back!!!"
