  • Relax indoors and at the river's edge

"This property was fabulous. The large open living space was perfect for getting together as a group and playing games and chatting. The arcade games were a hit, as was the poker table. While the bedrooms were small, the space was clean and comfortable. Plenty of supplies - sheets, towels, blankets, games, movies, and books. The outside living space was amazing. We came for a mid winter trip but will be back again for a summer vacation. Ample space to accommodate your group and a wonderful outdoor fireplace, wet bar, and picnic tables. Can't wait for nicer weather to be able to go down to the river and take advantage of the rocky beach. Plenty of room for our dogs - the dog run was nice to have. We had a fabulous time and would recommend this property in a heartbeat."

  • Enter as Strangers, Leave as Friends

"The above saying is on a wooden sign hung in the kitchen of this cozy hideaway, and it's not just a decoration, it's the truth. Because beyond having a safe, quiet, clean, comfortable place to stay, your every need is attended to by the owners/hosts who are the dearest, kindest people you could ever think to meet. They are also extremely knowledgeable about the area so will point visitors in the right direction for whatever it is they are seeking. It's these two who make this a lodging experience like no other. In addition, the home is impeccably decorated; the grounds are spacious, verdant, and bountiful; the locale is removed from but convenient to town; and the kitchen is stocked with food that is how food should be: local, organic, plentiful. Five stars is not enough for this place. We shall return!"

  • Cozy, quaint, perfect little getaway cabin!

"This adorable, cozy little cabin was the perfect place to enjoy our anniversary! Though the cabin is located in a neighborhood, we felt nice and secluded and tucked into the woods. The next door neighbor was around a bit and he was very friendly and kept to himself. There's no view of the lake, but it's walking distance and a 5-10 minute drive to multiple hikes, viewpoints and lake access. We loved that there were multiple areas to enjoy within the rental as well- a huge back deck, awesome fire pit and a perfect little hot tub, which we enjoyed every morning and evening with a view of the mountains through the trees. So relaxing! We cooked all our meals in the cabin and the kitchen was well stocked with all the supplies we needed. The cabin was truly one of our best vacation rental experiences we've had. The quaintness was the perfect fit for the two of us, and the amenities available made our stay just what we hoped! The cleaning and prepping for the next person's stay is not too much to ask for the price- well worth the money! You'll just want to make sure you give yourselves enough time since the washer/dryer are small (we had to do two loads), but with a 3:00 checkout, it's easy. We were very happy to clean up and get the place ready for the next people to enjoy. Both owners were very responsive when we had questions prior to our stay, as well as during. They were happy to give us recommendations on hikes, lake access and info about the area. I highly recommend this great lil cabin!"

  • Even better than expected!

"We stayed here with our family of three as an early birthday getaway for my husband. The fishing in front of the house was so-so, but we heard that the river was about to be stocked so it sounds like we just missed the big ones by a few days. No matter, he still enjoyed being out in the river for hours each day and even helped our six year old land one! The home is clean and well maintained, as are the grounds. The river access was very easy and we waded in the water every day, skipping rocks. (it was unseasonably warm for September!) The owner is understandably concerned about the number of stairs that lead from the house to the various decks and to the river, which is why this listing says "no young children". Don't be put off by that. If you have toddlers this may not be for you, but our six year old had a blast! The stairs are very solid, with appropriate railings. Also note that there are two bedrooms on two floors. So, if you have a kiddo with night-time needs this could be a concern. We met a few of the neighbors during our stay, very nice! The house was also very quiet inside, despite the proximity to the road and bridge. And, there were a lot of games available to play when it got too dark to fish. This weekend was a much needed family getaway and we would not hesitate to return. Many thanks for sharing this great spot!"
