"This home was amazing. Clean, quite and peaceful. Only downside, lots of mouse poo and quite dark inside. (Being an empty home in the woods, mice are common)"Guest: happy camper Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 4, 2014View listing
"Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed at this quaint little cabin for one weekend. We loved it! The cabin is a “breath of fresh air.” The McKenzie river flowing by outside is just gorgeous, it really does “sing.” The water is so clear, and when we were there had shades of a lovely turquoise color. The kitchen is small, but has all the supplies you need to cook your own meals. There aren’t any major grocery stores nearby so you might want to stock up in the nearest big city before you head out. There is a small grocery store not far away but it has really limited options. There is a nearby restaurant that we did try out. The staff at the restaurant are really friendly and the food portions are generous. The food itself was ok but nothing to rave about, and we chose not to eat there again. We loved the wraparound deck. . .so nice. In the mornings, I would sit outside and watch the river flow by. We spent most of our time there fishing in nearby rivers and lakes, and hiking. Sahalee Falls is a must! It is truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. We also visited Sisters briefly. A cute little town that is worth a stop. Wi-Fi was fairly decent, for those who can’t quite let go of their electronics. My eldest was happy he could surf his iPad when we were in the cottage. This cottage is one of several and they are much closer together than it appears in the photographs, but we never felt crowded and it was quiet. The cottage is clean and also has a small library of DVDs, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, it was a great trip and a great way to finish off the summer before the kids headed back to school. I’d recommend staying here."Guest: Jane Y. "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the McKenzie River. This was the first time we rented through VRBO and our experience was truly amazing. This was not just a house but a true HOME!!!!! Janet and John's home was not only well located but was beautiful inside and outside and equipped with everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. My husband was able to catch fish every day and I was able to kick back and relax on the wonderful and spacious deck area. The weather was incredibly beautiful. When we return to this area we will definitely chose this home again."Guest: Darlene Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 31, 2014View listing
"Thank you for sharing your house with us as we were introduced to the splendor of Oregon. The house was a perfect "home base" for us as we rested between trips to wineries, Crater Lake, and the beautiful Oregon coast. Isn't it funny how catching a fish can turn a grown man into a giddy child again? And we observed that repeated many times, so there will be no need to make up fish stories to share. Your instructions and suggestions offered were very helpful. We will pack our music DVD's next trip - had to sing our own James Taylor music, but the birds (and fish) didn't seem to mind too much! We will remember this trip with pleasure and appreciate your hospitality."Guest: K Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 5, 2014View listing
