"What a wonderful place. Great views, Out in the country, but close to town. Surrounded by wetlands, it's a walkers dream. Comfy and clean, the house had everything we needed. The grounds are spectacular. Ponds and woods, chickens and pigeons. Landscaped nicely, must be beautiful in spring and summer. This is soooo much better than a hotel in town. The owners were very friendly, and full of advice. They provided fresh locally roasted coffee."

  • October at it's best

"As the arranging member of a golf foursome on a one night stay I am most happy to report that all were impressed beyond their expectations with the location, charm and cleanliness of the Eagles Nest at McKenzie River Cottages. Impressed even further by the fact I was completely unable to reassure and describe any benefits since all was new to me, too. One downside however. A mid seventy afternoon on a very pleasant deck overlooking the McKenzie river, the sound of ripples, October trees and the soft full-moon light sparkling off the surface caused us to go into storytelling overdrive and the resulting consumption did affect our golf scores the next morning. That's our story and we're sticking with it."

"is this a 5 star resort? absolutly not!,Is it rustic, and quaint? amazingly so. If you're expecting resort type ammenities, you will be sadly disapointed, but if you love the outdoors, the sound of water running down a creek, fishing, and serenity, this place is ideal. Tucked amoungst the ceders and the giant oaks,is a lovely rustic cabin, complete with woodstoves(2 and all wood provided),a very fuctional kitchen, and a sweet old fashioned claw foot bathtub.,outside, you have the choice of 4-5 different fire pits for evening enjoyment. A creek on one side and the river running across the front makes fishing and outdoor time a pleasure, we fished, we walked, we picked black berries, and had a fantastic time. My only observation, is that better groomed paths on the property, and a little bit better ventalation in the cabin would be helpful. The caretaker of the property and the owner were extremly helpful and courtious. We are so looking forward to staying there again."

  • Great place in McMinnville

"Great place to stay while wine tasting in McMinnville. Easy driving access to wineries. Convenient to downtown McMinnville and lots of great restaurants to walk to. The apartment is private and comfortable...great home base to visit the area!"
