  • great option for your stay in beautiful Carlton

"My father and I stayed at this house during our two night visit to Carlton. The house was as advertised, and though we didn't try every feature, everything that we used worked great, including the internet. We would stay here again. A couple of things to note - make sure you bring your own shampoo/conditioner, and if you are an extremely light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as it is on a fairly busy road (as are nearly all of the possible places to stay in Carlton)."

  • Our new home away from home

"We found a gem with this home. We had a last minute opportunity to take my sons to see the University of Oregon and this was one of the few places available and a reasonable price. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortable! The home is very clean (a must for me) and the hospitality reminded me of home in the south :) Ingrid and her husband think of everything! We had remembered to bring items such as toilet paper and paper towels because most rentals either do not provide these items, or they are lacking. We didn't even have to unwrap them! She also makes sure the pantry is stocked with necessities that can be easily forgotten. Butter, Salt, Sugar, you name it, it was there! Our family prefers organic and natural ingredients and we were so pleased to see that Ingrid had left us organic bread, coffee, cream (even though I had brought my own and didn't use t), fresh strawberries, etc. We just simply didn't need to take the time to run out and get anything right away, making our visit that much more pleasant! We enjoyed watching the old movies too :) My personal favorite item was the individual French press. I DO love a good French press coffee and since I am the only coffee drinker in the family I was able to indulge in my own little bit of heaven every morning :) Yes, this will be our home away from home for the next 4 years.... or so :)"

  • Perfect

"We spent three beautiful nights at Northfork Santiam River Home. Could not be happier with the entire experience. There were lights on and the pellet stove was going when we arrived. The directions to get to the house were right on and we had no trouble finding it. It was so quiet there that the river was the only noise we heard. Starting with our contact with the owner, all went better than could have been expected. Including getting us in one night early due to a very bad experience with a different house we had rented nearer Salem. The house was spotless, warm and comfortable. The master bedroom had a wonderfully comfortable king bed and you can hear the river from inside. Even though it was a little chilly, we still left the sliding glass door open so we could really hear it. Nice, nice. Two bathrooms were wonderful and there is a second bedroom on the first floor. The furnishings are very nice. We were impressed with everything. The home gives you the feeling of being out in the wild but it is actually only a couple of miles from grocery stores and some places to eat. And only about 20 miles and you are in Salem. We also took a drive over to Lincoln City and Depoe Bay on the coast for the day. Easy drive from the house. Just perfect for us. We would and have recommended this home to friends. Thank you Cindy for allowing us to rent your beautiful home!!!"

  • Delightful!

"My 28 year old niece & I stayed for 2 nights at Fox Farm Cottage. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was the perfect base to visit the Willamette Valley wineries. It is centrally located yet tucked away on a quiet street. The only noise we heard was the distant call of a rooster in the morning. The curb appeal of the home is a 10 with lovely landscaping & gardens. The house is well equipped & extremely clean. There is a living room with a comfortable couch & oversized chair. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking & drinking wine! The owner was kind enough to leave us eggs, bacon, English muffins, orange juice, milk, coffee & delicious cookies! What a wonderful surprise. Way better than an hotel! We each had our own bedroom. My nieces room had a patio door that lead to a quaint deck. My bedroom had a private door to one of the bathrooms. There is a second bath off the mud room. It was actually nice to have the bath at the back of the house as I am an early riser & didn't want to disturb my niece. The house works well for people on different schedules...I took full advantage of the free internet access to catch up on work issues. We loved the private hot tub in the enclosed shed. It was clean & pure heaven after a hard day of wine tasting. We picked up dinner down the road at Red Hills Market our first night as we were to tired to eat out. The house has satellite tv so there were lots of movie options. We highly recommend this home for a single person, couple, couples or small family. There is no doubt I will stay there again & highly recommend it to friends. Panther Creek Cellars & Four Graces Winery are just down the road. Great places to pick up wine on your way back to Fox Farm."
