  • great option for your stay in beautiful Carlton

"My father and I stayed at this house during our two night visit to Carlton. The house was as advertised, and though we didn't try every feature, everything that we used worked great, including the internet. We would stay here again. A couple of things to note - make sure you bring your own shampoo/conditioner, and if you are an extremely light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as it is on a fairly busy road (as are nearly all of the possible places to stay in Carlton)."

  • Cute, humble abode

"Let me start by getting the negative out of the way- I feel bad even disclosing this because we really did enjoy our stay here, but a review is supposed to be straightforward. Especially so that it can be handled better in the future: Upon arrival we started getting settled into the two rooms and almost immediately noticed a sizable, I'm just going to call it a "stain" for lack of appropriate terms, on the top of one of the bedspreads. This "stain" was pretty gross- yes it looked wiped up- but by no means was this bedspread washed after the last, rambunctious use. It made us all question how long it had been since all the blankets in the house had been washed. Ew. There were plenty of extra blankets in the closet and we just decided to not thoroughly inspect them... We just didn't want to know because or minds were already staring to wander! Another negative (and mind you this by no means made our stay worse) was that in the welcome sheet when we got to the house it said that we'd have a bottle of wine to enjoy. No wine. :( luckily we brought refreshments of our own. Also, it said there would be coffee there and their wasn't. Again, not a huge deal because there are several cute shops within a couple blocks from the house. On to all of the positives! This house is cute. And by cute I mean, I wish I could keep it for myself. The kitchen is nice and updated as well as the bathroom. It has a great amount of space and easily fit our group of 5 women. The beds were comfortable! Plenty of extra pillows and sheets and blankets in the closet. Our favorite thing about the house though was the convenience. It's right near so many fun shops, good restaurants, etc. only 15 mins away from about a million wineries. There are also some tasting rooms within walking distance in downtown McMinnville. I can see our group coming back again in the future for sure! The house really did feel like a home away from home :)"

  • Incredible Labor Day Weekend!

"We stayed at Gentle Acres for Labor Day Weekend (two couples and one baby) to visit the local wineries and relax a bit. I cannot put into words how incredible our weekend was. Ben and Britta have done an AMAZING job with the suite, it is immaculate and very well appointed. They have thought of everything, so many nice touches to make it a truly relaxing getaway in the country. There are incredible views from every room. They even left us fresh eggs from their chickens and a bottle of Pinot Gris to kick off the weekend. I hope to visit them at Gentle Acres many times again in the future. Thank you both!"

  • Wine Tasting Home Base

"We enjoyed three nights with two couples at Vineyard Ridge. The website photos are very accurate and the amenities were exactly what we needed. It was a relaxing and secluded base in the middle of the Dundee Hills. Wine tastings were easy to reach with a short drive. The house is down a gravel road, but you would have a hard time finding that view and seclusion if the road were paved. The pond is beautiful with a bunch of noisy frogs. We drowned them out by turning the fan on at bedtime. We grilled one night and everything worked perfectly. We cannot wait to return!!"
