A Wonderful Portland Trip
"My group of 3 had a great time at Lisa's condo in Portland. We were provided a queen air mattress at our request, and this will now be available for future guests (it's self-inflating and very comfortable!). The location is beautiful as it sits right by the river. We spent almost every late evening outside by the fire pit with a few beers. The location is great for walking almost anywhere in Northern Portland. We needed a car for a ski trip, so the free covered parking spot was very appreciated and very close to the condo. A couple of my local friends stopped by for a few drinks, and they were very impressed with the digs. I highly recommend staying here! Our hosts were very accessible via email, and all instructions were very minimal and straightforward."

"This little cottage was fantastic! My family and I have stayed in many rental homes in many different areas. It's our preferred way to stay vs. hotels. We've stayed in ones that are million dollar homes and yet this one might just be my favorite! You just can't beat staying out in the country!! It's not big, but my husband and I used the bedroom and our two kids slept in the living room and we were perfectly comfortable. It was clean, cute, and welcoming. When we got there the owners had left us a plate of cookies and a bottle of local wine! Best of all though was the setting. Cute little yard right out of the front door. Pretty potted flowers, grape vines, and nice wicker furniture. We definitely spent time just sitting outside and visiting. The owner came over while we were outside and introduced herself and she was so nice! The fence right there at the yard borders some of the farm's pastures and we were all very excited to be greeted by the cows and goat! They were very friendly. As were the two cats. It was just a really great, relaxing country weekend. By far better than squeezing into a plain old hotel room.
Thanks so much for providing your rental cottage! There weren't many in the area, so I hope you keep this one going for everyone to enjoy! I'd love to come back someday without the kids and explore the area vineyards!"

"The house and property are so charming and beautifully restored. With wine country but a stones throw away, a bevy of delicious restaurants and stunning views within a short drive, this house was perfect for our mother daughter weekend. Next time we will take advantage of the kitchen to accommodate more wine tastings. Overall great experience!"

"We started our Sibling Trip (7 adults) at this Hawthorne House and it started us off on the right foot. We enjoyed the big front porch for morning coffee, the backyard patio for afternoon tea/drinks. The beds were comfortable and the house was a great choice over being in a hotel room. It had a lot of character. Hawthorne Road was a two-short-block walk from the house and there were so many restaurants to choose from. The neighbourhood was flat and was easy walking. We would search out this place a second time if we went to Portland again."
