  • Charming Country Home

"Completely as described in the listing, the cozy house is part of a farm. Liza was available (next door) to answer questions, but we had complete privacy. All pots, pans, utensils, and baking needs were found in the kitchen, which is a rarity in my experience with vacation rentals. Got the impression it was an old house but nicely and completely renovated within the past 10 years. All appliances and bathrooms were modern and working perfect. I'm not usually a fan of country decor, but this was more authentic looking, with lots of browns, rusty reds, and faded blues. Not kitchy or cute. Husband is a history buff, so very much enjoyed nearby Fort Bedford Museum and the recreated old village. Ate out most lunches and some dinners, and the Jean Something Tavern west of Bedford on Rt 30 was our favorite. I enjoyed the antiques in town and coverlet museum. The 2 state parks were great, too. There are several (20?) picturesque covered bridges in the area, and one was an easy walk from the home. There are 2 great summer ice cream places on the main road -- the cow and the igloo. Would recommend this to a friend who wanted a fairly low-key vacation with plenty of time to relax."

  • Great place at the River!

"My husband and I visited the owners at this cottage, as Doug & Mary Ellen are my husbands friends from many years ago. This visit was my first time to the cottage, and I was very impressed. I own and manage several rental properties at Raystown Lake, and I can no way compare the privacy this cottage offers to the guest, fantastic! So peaceful, clean, very nicely decorated, and the personal touch the owners offer is so welcoming! We met with some fellow friends in for a Huntingdon class reunion from Florida at this cottage, and as we sat on the deck overlooking the river, the peaceful setting was so inviting! The short drive to the lake, one of the best dinners in Huntingdon County is nearby, as well as the plenty of things to do within a 15 minute drive. Great place to kick back and relax, and enjoy the nature this cottage has to offer. Thank you Dave and Mary Ellen for a wonderful dinner, and what a beautiful place you have!"

  • Great Ski Weekend

"We did a last minute booking to get a good March ski weekend in. The owner responded to my booking immediately. The rate was incredible; the condo was everything we were looking for; the skiing was excellent. The condo is smallish, but sleeps 4 to 6 comfortably, is clean, and provides everything you need if your main focus is on skiing. After skiing dining in the Clubhouse was good. Though the had a limited menu (end of season), the food was good and they had a very strong collection of craft beers. The Clubhouse was very informal and provided a perfect, care-free atmosphere for two daughters, (7&9). Finally and most importantly, the skiing at Blue Knob is exceptional. This condo is perfect for a family seeking a quick, ski weekend getaway. When it was all said and done, this weekend cost us about half what a comparable weekend at 7 Springs would have cost, and the skiing was twice as good. If you want to hang out at a resort go to 7 springs. If you want to get your ski on, rent this condo and head to Blue Knob."

Elysburg Travel Tips

Elysburg Vacation Rentals for Relaxation

Elysburg cottages are in a small, but welcoming town. What Elysburg lacks in attractions within the city limits, it makes up for with friendly people, one-of-a-kind locally owned stores and great places to dine. The quiet seclusion of Elysburg vacation rentals gives you a place to come back to and relax after a busy day exploring all that the surrounding sites Allegheny County have to offer.

Elysburg Cottages Close to Amusement Park Fun

Just outside of town, you'll find one of the most talked about amusement parks in the state of Pennsylvania. Knoebels Amusement Resort draws people from all over the country. There are rides for children of all ages, including kiddie rides for the wee ones, roller coasters and carnival rides for the more daring and a beautiful carousel ride and scenic sky ride for the whole family to enjoy. Attractions within the park include miniature golf, laser tag and a 4D motion ride. Knoebels even offers a three pond golf course. And don't forget the summer water park with a large public pool, huge slides and a kiddie area. Knoebels has enough to offer that it may take a few days of your Elysburg vacation rentals stay to get it all in.

Allegheny Area Lodging with Lots to See and Do

There are plenty of options available for activities and sights to see when you stay in Allegheny area lodging. If you're into arts and culture, then you should check out the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Children's Museum or the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. There are 11 golf courses in the area and several county parks and public swimming pools. Of course, there is an endless supply of shopping and dining locations along the way to wherever your destination for fun may lead.
