  • Peaceful Retreat

"Beautiful private location. Very clean cabin and well stocked kitchen. The layout of the cabin was great for our family. In the evenings we enjoyed the pool table, nice lawn for yard games, and the fire pit. The listing info is accurate as to what ammenities are available and the owner was super to work with. i would recommend this retreat to freiends and family. Had a wonderful, peaceful vacation!"

  • Great location!

"My husband and I stayed with our dog at the Drooly Bear Cabin for five days this past week. We had a wonderful trip! Matt was wonderful to work with both during the booking process and during our stay. He was extremely responsive to our questions and needs. Thank you! Overall the cabin was perfect for our needs, though if you are considering it for your vacation, here are few things to note: 1. There is currently no air conditioning. The first few days this was more problematic than later in our stay as it was more humid and the cabin felt very sticky. When the temperatures were lower (in the low 70s) and the humidity stayed down, we were fine with open windows and it even got quite chilly at night. Though I don't mind the heat as much as my husband does, we would probably not considering renting the cabin during the summer again for this reason but would absolutely consider other times of year. 2. Overall the cabin was clean, though it does show wear and tear from previous renters. The carpet is older and stained in places. The pictures are mostly true to form. 3. The kitchen had most of the supplies we needed. Matt also supplied linens, towels, paper towels and toilet paper. 4. The location was absolutely perfect! The road it is on goes straight into Trough Creek State Park where we spent two days hiking. It was about a ten minute drive as it is a gravel road and you are driving slowly. If you like to hike, you must visit. It was also about 25-30 minutes to the Seven Points Recreation Area and marina where we enjoyed swimming in Raystown Lake with our dog. There are many other water activities, hiking, and mountain biking trails available at Raystown Lake as well. 5. If you are looking for a completely secluded location, then be aware that there are other cabins on the same road. You can see another cabin next door and in the distance behind the cabin but overall it was very quiet with the exception of periodic vehicles driving the road. Overall, we had a great trip and it was the perfect location for us to get away and relax for a few days."

  • Wonderful!

"Four generations of my family stayed at the cabin recently and everything was perfect. From the cabin itself which is beautiful and well-laid out for large groups, to where it is located near the lake and state parks, and all the extras like the ping pong and pool tables. We highly recommend walking the trails around the cabin and also nearby Trough Creek State Park. Tatman Run Recreation Area is really close for the beach and fishing. We found plenty to do regardless of the weather. Everything was exactly as described with no surprises and the owners were quick to answer our only question. The pictures are accurate and beautiful but this place really needs to be experienced in person. We highly recommend to people of all ages."

  • Wonderful stay in a great house!

"We loved our stay at the farmhouse - it is full of character. The upstairs bedrooms are very pretty and spacious. The kitchen is full of old-time charm, and the living room with the TV is small and cozy. The sunroom is awesome - spacious, bright, with view of woods. Harold also keeps the property outside well-maintained. We sat around the campfire in the evening, hiked in the nearby woods in the daytime, and just relaxed. Our 2 dogs had a blast running around the big yard. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're actually not too far of the beaten path. We will be going back often! Hopefully when there's snow. Great value for the money."
