  • Great Time For The Bachelor Party

"I took a group of 12 of us up there for the weekend and we had a great time!! The cabin was clean. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep. It was very secluded so we could make as much noise as we wanted. The kitchen and grill were really nice, and the fire pit was great to sit around. The only downfalls of the cabin were the road getting up is very rocky. However I have a tiny car and did not bottom out on the way up so all was well. Second thing was there was alot of mud and water in the horse pit area. However there was a ton rain leading up to that weekend so that most likely was the reason. I definitely plan on renting this place again."

  • Cabin Comfort

"This was our family's 2nd visit to the Log Cabin! This is such a wonderful location being secluded on top of the mountain, but so close to everything you could ever want. The cabin is incredible and so roomy! Our family consisted of my 88 year old mom, my sister, and brother in law. There is ample space to kick back, watch movies, play games, nap, and just enjoy the scenery outside the windows. You could not want for anything at the cabin. The kitchen is fully equipped. You just bring the food! What I loved about the cabin is that they supply all the towels and linens! Do you know how much space that takes up in your vehicles? It's a dream to walk in and have everything provided there for you. After a long day exploring, you can come back and cozy up by the beautiful fireplace or if it's nice weather, sit on a rocker on the wrap around porch and just watch the leaves fall and the wild turkeys walk by! We're looking forward to getting back to the cabin next year! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Cook for opening your beautiful home for everyone to enjoy!"

  • A Little Slice of Heaven

"I had the pleasure of renting this property, with a group of friends, for a week in the fall and could not have been happier. :) The house was incredibly clean and well maintained. The grounds as well - pretty landscaping all around. The photos don't do it justice! There is a living room on the main level with and an additional seating area (with tv) on the upstairs landing and an incredible amount of seating (with tables - yes plural!) outside on the wrap around porch. Enough room to spread out yet the house feels cozy. Everything was in working order and there were even fresh cut flowers waiting in the kitchen for us upon arrival. Check in was a BREEZE with beds being made PRIOR to our arrival! (that was really a lovely surprise!) And thanks to the clear (and simple) instructions, check out was also easy. If we have ANY suggestion, it is to enable wi-fi. This really is a 'retreat' as you are mostly offgrid in terms of internet connectivity. We enjoyed the quiet, walking the nearby trails, and the numerous wild animals - deer, chipmunks, and wild turkey all made a visit! We would love to come back! :) Thanks so much David and the rest of the SOMAs!"

  • PSU Football lodging

"This was our second stay at Laurel Woods. The house is always clean and it has plenty of space for our group. Dianne is very organized and is always ready to help with any questions. We use this house as a place to stay for Penn State football games as it is about 50 minutes from State College. We will be staying again."
