  • fun family fishing trip

"From first impressions to the end of the stay we were very impressed. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the house was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The location was perfect for boating and fishing since we didn't even need to travel on a road to get there. It was within walking distance to Lake Raystown. The covered deck was a great place to spend quality time with our children and grandchild and a quiet setting to relax at. Highly recommend for family fishing fun!!"

  • Serene and Peaceful Cottage

"I spent an enjoyable few days at Sophronia Cottage along with my very elderly dog. I was looking for a place that was not only dog friendly but "dog accessible," i.e., all on one floor and without slippery surfaces. Sophronia fit the bill, as my old gal could get in and out from the small deck off the bedroom and other than the kitchen and bathroom, the cottage is carpeted -- helpful for secure canine footing! Sophronia is quite compact in size, the smallest of the four cottages on the property. It is modestly but comfortably furnished and the front porch has wonderful chairs for reading or just gazing out at the surrounding area. I did not use the gas fireplace in the bedroom as the weather was unseasonably warm for May, but I'm sure it can be very cozy on a chilly night. A short walk from the cottage brings you to the small, picturesque lake, where you can sit on the dock and read or take out a paddle boat. My dog was able to walk down to the lake the first morning; other than that we took shorter walks along the path to the lake or in a nice big field adjacent to the path. Younger dogs would of course have no problem getting around the whole property, which is very secluded and private! With only four cottages (all on different parts of the property), Green Valley is wonderfully quiet and uncrowded, to say the least. The surrounding location is quite rural and local stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. are somewhat minimal. That did not bother me as I go away to primarily read and relax, but might be important for others to be aware of. All in all, Green Valley Cottages is a lovely property and I can understand why it has so many repeat visitors -- I hope to be one as well!"

  • Fall Mountain Bike Weekend

"My Otter Place is the perfect rental for a mountain bike weekend. Easy ride directly from the house to the Alligrippis trails. House is clean, comfortable, and has plenty of room to hang out. Dinner at Boxers in Huntingdon is a must after a long ride."

  • Total Peace

"My mother and I stayed at this property for a few days. I must say it was so very peaceful. The pictures do not do it justice. It is very spacious. The property was spotless and we had all the conveniences we needed. It was wonderful to sit in the living room and watch the squirrels and chipmunks play. Sit on the deck and watch the sunlight reflect off of the river. Bruce was extremely helpful giving us driving directions. Thanks Bruce."
