"My friends and I were looking for a place to get away from it all for a weekend and this place was perfect for that. It was a fairly secluded house with only one far away neighbor in sight. The interior was very comfortable. We particularly liked the wood burning stove. The interior was fairly well maintained with only a few minor repairs needed. The exterior was pretty with a wrap around porch and a swing. The owner was very nice and was easy to work with. The last half mile to the house is very rough with rocks and steep hills. However we were able to make it easily even with our small car. However, I would guess you would need a 4x4 if there was a lot of snow.
I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to escape to the woods for a few days."

"We enjoyed the quality of the renovation and the attention to detail in every room of the house. The cleaneliness is exceptional and all furnishings are of high quality. Thank you Barbara for this experience!

"Completely as described in the listing, the cozy house is part of a farm. Liza was available (next door) to answer questions, but we had complete privacy. All pots, pans, utensils, and baking needs were found in the kitchen, which is a rarity in my experience with vacation rentals. Got the impression it was an old house but nicely and completely renovated within the past 10 years. All appliances and bathrooms were modern and working perfect. I'm not usually a fan of country decor, but this was more authentic looking, with lots of browns, rusty reds, and faded blues. Not kitchy or cute.
Husband is a history buff, so very much enjoyed nearby Fort Bedford Museum and the recreated old village. Ate out most lunches and some dinners, and the Jean Something Tavern west of Bedford on Rt 30 was our favorite. I enjoyed the antiques in town and coverlet museum. The 2 state parks were great, too. There are several (20?) picturesque covered bridges in the area, and one was an easy walk from the home. There are 2 great summer ice cream places on the main road -- the cow and the igloo.
Would recommend this to a friend who wanted a fairly low-key vacation with plenty of time to relax."
