  • Perfect Multi-Family House

"We spent a weekend in Lancaster for a family wedding, & this house was perfect! We had 10 adults & 2 children & there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything was so clean & comfortable, & we really enjoyed the large kitchen for everyone to gather. All of the cows was an extra bonus, especially for the kids. Thank you Sue for making the checkin & checkout so easy. We would definately love to stay here again, & will be sure to recommend The Landyshade Farmhouse to our friends!"

  • Perfect Family Vacation

"Charming mix of vintage and modern! Very comfortable home with high ceilings in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood. Convenient to Hershey Attractions. AC works well and everything was just as the listing states. The steps are steep and the railings somewhat low so I'd recommend bringing a baby gate if you have toddlers. We visited with two teenagers and stayed for 9 days. For 3 days we had 2 more teens and a set of grandparents and even though we were at full capacity, we never felt cramped. We used the front entryway as a place for the extra mattresses for the boys and put the girls on the pull out and the grandparents on the twin beds. Will definitely come back to this gem! The restaurant across the street was a nice place to go for the adults."

  • Peaceful, spacious, relaxing, what more can I say.

"We have stayed at numerous vacation rentals and Sylvan Retreat did not disappoint. This place is spacious, the room upstairs was wonderful for the kids to play in and the yard was marvelous. Plenty of room for all eight of us. We cancelled plans to stay home one night and grill, have a fire, and the kids caught fireflies. We played music and relaxed. The yard is truly a retreat. The kids loved the playset, I enjoyed the glider and the men loved the pool table and ping pong table in the garage. There was also a foosball game. It took me a bit to find the garage, but it is down the driveway. We took hikes on the trails and the kids and adults picked berries. I loved it that there was no TV in the living room, but in all the bedrooms. Phil had everything you need there and it was clean (which is my first priority.) No one was ready to leave and hope to be back."

  • Great rural home, but close to everything

"Home is much nicer than add/pictures shows. I have said at homes for 3 times what I paid for this lovely rental but enjoyed this home much more. Quiet, comfortable beds, well furnished. Owner very easy to work with. We wish we could have said longer. Great walks/runs in the rural country side in the mornings. Screened in porch was nice and we stat and watched the lighting. Would defiantly come again and recommend. Home had everything you need."

Dutch Country Resorts Close to History

Some of the homes are within five miles of the battlefield so you can spend a few days walking the area on your own or take a bus tour to hear about this epic battle. Lancaster saw fighting during the Revolutionary War but today is more famous for its Amish and Mennonite population. Visit an Amish Farm and House where you will be immersed in the culture of this community. There is an 1805 farm house and one-room school house to visit as well as farm equipment and demonstrations to observe.

If you have children, they may be interested in visiting Hershey Park where there are more than 65 rides.
