  • Perfect for our family

"We had an amazing time at the Oasis! Everything was so well thought out, I can’t think of anything that we lacked while we were there. If we vacation in that area again we would definitely stay at The Oasis again and we have already recommended it to many friends and family!"

  • Truly a 5-star cottage; a destination in itself!!

"We sort of just stumbled upon this cottage on our search for a fall weekend getaway. The pictures looked nice, the reviews were good, and the price was reasonable, so we booked it. Little did we know what a luxurious place we'd found! The cottage is nice enough from the outside, but it's when you step in the door that you realize how incredible it is... hardwood floors, stone fireplace, granite countertops, amazing kitchen, upscale linens on the beds, plush towels, and beautiful furniture, and that's just for starters!! It was in pristine condition when we arrived with the beds beautifully made. Many times I think mountain cabins and cottages are furnished in "thrift store style," but not this one! It is obvious that the owners invested a lot of thought and care into furnishing their cottage in an upscale yet comfortable manner. We wanted a family bonding vacation and that's exactly what we got -- we made great meals in the well-appointed kitchen, played games and read books in front of the fire, took naps and just had one of the most relaxing weekends we've had in quite awhile. There is great internet and cable TV reception there, but we chose to have an "unplugged" vacation, and this cottage was the ideal place for it. We rode bikes to the corner deli for breakfast, went into downtown Chambersburg to ride our bikes along the rail-trail, and hiked at Caledonia State Park. It was only 30 minutes from Whitetail Ski Resort so we had a beautiful drive out there for the Fall Festival. This would be a great place to stay while at Whitetail for skiing. This would be an incredible place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway for 2, although there is a queen bed upstairs, and a queen futon downstairs, so it can sleep six people. The only people I maybe would not recommend this cottage to would be people who have trouble with stairs or families with young children, since only one of the bedrooms is on the main floor, and the two others are upstairs and downstairs via a circular stairway which may be hard for some to navigate. We already can't wait to come back!! Thank you so much to Karen & family for having your beautiful cottage available for rent -- truly you blessed our family!!"

  • Hershey Swap Meeter

"We greatly enjoyed our stay! Beds so comfortable! The house had everything you could need. We were in Hershey for swap meet. It was so nice to come back to the house after a busy day on the field. Lee and Cindy are great-warm and welcoming-just like the house and Cindy makes the best brownies I have ever tasted! There were 4 adults staying and there was ample space for us all."
