  • Incredible find! So near NYC and seems so European.

"My wife and I spent a long weekend in June at the Forester’s Cottage. It only took an hour and a half (70 miles) to get there from NYC. The property is very secluded, bound by the National Historic site Grey Towers on one side and a forest with a waterfall on the other. The whole feel of the place is very old world European with garden walls and open lawns. We enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool area, large vegetable gardens and orchards, ping pong on the back porch, and had dinner on the front porch with beautiful walled garden and mountain views. The rooms are large and spacious, no air conditioning but the stone house is cool and shaded. We loved walking in the evenings through the gardens at Grey Towers, and taking daily walks into the town of Milford a ½ mile away. The house is very historic, property of the Pinchot family. Loved the French Patisserie, Fauchere’s restaurant, Fretta’s specialty Italian food store and tremendous antiquing in the lovely little town of Milford."

  • ONE OF THE BEST EVER!

"This home has everything to enjoy a wonderful vacation. The photos do not do this place justice! It is comfortable and so homey. The location is the best. We were right near the tennis courts and the pool. The pool is heated and large and the people working there were so nice. This home is close to so many activities. We loved the horsebacking riding, my son and daughter enjoyed the waterpark and they took a white water rafting trip down the Lehigh and had a ball! The owner, Jim, is so helpful and very good at getting back to you with any questions that you may have. We just had a wonderful vacation and we hope to return next year! Thanks again for allowing us to vacation in your beautiful home! I highly recommend this place to friends or anyone looking for a great vacation in the Poconos!"

  • Birthday weekend

"As soon as we walked in we fell in love with the house. We were so glad to discover the house was fully packed with more than what we needed. Yes we overpacked, even bringing pots, pillows, etc. We couldnt clgrull because of the snow but it didn't stop us from enjoying the weekend. Thank you Stacey and Al for everything from beginning to end. Already planning for future weekends at this house."

  • Absolutely beautifully welcoming home!!

"We had a wonderful family vacation! Rubins retreat is absolutely adorable! Very clean, very comfortable. We found lots to do between the amenities at the house and throughout the community, and with some short travels to Hawk Falls, and Country Junction. The owners were very pleasant, and answered all of our questions promptly. We highly recommend to those with or without children to get away and enjoy yourself. The owners remembered every little detail when stocking and decorating their beautiful home!! We hope to come back soon!!"
