"My family and I just spent a week at this home and it was really great. The house itself could use a little TLC but what you're really paying for is the location. Lake front, personal dock, 3 boats, & less then a 5 minute walk to the beach and pool. THAT is where you're money is going with this rental. If you're looking for luxury this is not the place but if you're looking for an incredible family vacation I absolutely recommend it. The one and only downside on the location is this is a motor boat lake. Really cool to watch at first but by the end of the week, when they're on the lake by 7:30 a.m., not so much. All in all this was one of our best vacations ever."Guest: Amanda J. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 8, 2014View listing
"First off, let me start off my saying Layne & Lynda are wonderful to deal with. Every time I had a question, they answered me back very promptly and are extremely nice. Now to the house, It was beautiful!! It has everything you would need from a stocked kitchen and a beautiful fireplace, to games in the game room for both kids and adults. Everyone in our party didn't have one negative word to say about it. Not to mention that it was spotless. The neighborhood is beautiful and there is a great view of Boulder Mountain from the deck, you can see the slopes lit up at night. The hot tub is a must, especially at night with a nice glass of wine. We especially loved it when a deer came within a few feet of us while we were in the hot tub at night. Speaking of deer, there was a family of deer, sometimes up to 10 of them that live behind the house in the wooded area. They are just such peaceful animal and made the experience even that much better since everyone in our group are from the city. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to my friends and family, we are actually looking forward to going back in the future. Thank you again to Layne & Lynda, we couldn't have had such a great weekend without you!!"Guest: Christa Date of Stay: January 2015 Review Submitted: January 20, 2015View listing
"My seven friends and I absolutely loved staying at this cottage for a weekend getaway from New York City. The accommodations were spacious and clean. The kitchen was stocked with all the gadgets, utensils, dishes, and glassware we could possibly need, which was incredibly important because our group loves to grill/cook. The living room was great for relaxing while watching some TV, but we spent most of our time hanging out on the wraparound balcony enjoying the scenery and gorgeous weather. Four acres was more than enough land to make sure our stay was quiet, but the sound system, which worked with all of our iPhones and iPods, had indoor and outdoor speakers and ensured that when we wanted music, we had it. We stopped by the Indian Rocks community area to play some half court basketball and take a dip in the pool (which was very clean and was not incredibly busy). The house came stocked with board games for downtime. The WiFi worked flawlessly - which was important since many in our group are email and instagram fiends. Also, my boys and I became pretty competitive on the ping pong table in the basement (Forrest Gump competitive, at least in our minds). While it's best to bring all the groceries you need, there are a few convenience stores not too far off, and we found a great supermarket about 20 minutes away. It was 50-55 degrees at night, which was somewhat cool for a summer night, but the chiminea kept my group toasty while we enjoyed some drinks in the outdoors. On our way home, we stopped by The Crossings Outlet in Stroudsburg (about 25-30 min away). I can't wait to go back to this cottage!"Guest: E.C.
