  • Great place to stay in the Pocono's

"We rented this home as a place for the family to stay for my daughters wedding at Skytop Lodge. The home is the last one on Fairway Drive just before you get to the main entrance to Skytop. The home is extremely comfortable with two working fireplaces, the back porch invites you to sit and relax for hours.:)...the heat worked like a charm too as the temperature began to drop during our stay. Perhaps the best surprise we had was within 30 minutes of checking in, the power went out in our area do to a car hitting a power pole on the main street...for us, the lights flickered for a second and the automatic generator kicked in and we were the only ones with power for the next 8 hours...very nice addition for that unexpected emergency. The bedrooms are comfortable with adequate storage/closet space. You are literally 2 minutes from he Skytop Lodge so it was very convenient for us. We are looking to return just on our own in the future!"

  • Very convenient!

"We had a great stay in this slopeside townhouse. Check in was easy and the townhouse had everything we needed. There was a nice welcome note and a bottle of wine on the table to greet us! Our boys enjoyed having a tv in their room even though they fell asleep very quickly after skiing and swimming. The pool and sauna were great to be able to use. Since it was a holiday weekend the mountain was very crowded but being able to walk to the slope was perfect. We had our two younger boys with us and they were not comfortable beginning on slopeside/middle of the mountain. Since it was a holiday weekend and parking was crazy my husband would drop off the boys and I at the base, go back to the village (2 minutes away) and park at the townhouse. He and our older son would ski down and meet up with us. At lunch he would take the lift back up and it would drop him off directly across from where the town house is. Sometimes he would take a different lift to the very top and ski 1/2 way down, hop in the car and pick us up. It was great to be able to go back for lunch, hang out, & warm up in our own space instead of on the slope and spending $$ for lunch & dinner. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer. I would dry the kids gloves and snow pants before going back out again. Barley Creek Brewing Company is right down the road. Good wings and beer! Other restaurants and grocery store are within 10 minutes. Only two minor complaints....the tv in the loft was not hooked up and we couldn't figure it out. The other is that the pots & pans in the kitchen could be updated. We had a great time & look forward to going back next year! Thank you Lorraine for an easy getaway!"

  • Talk about an incredible property!

"If you're looking for any reason at all to get away, make sure to check out this property. We had 21 people in our group and not once did it feel like there were too many people. In fact, there were times when I looked around and couldn't believe how much extra space we had. We weren't fortunate enough to have nice weather for our weekend, but it didn't matter. There are endless sources of entertainment in this home, from foosball to shuffle board, there was never a dull moment for anyone. Moving on to Colleen, the owner of the house. Throughout the entire rental process, Colleen was extremely helpful. Even while we were at the house and had a couple of questions, she was always there to help. Overall I, along with everyone in our group had an amazing time. The combination of an amazing property and a helpful owner made our weekend one to remember forever. Don't hesitate, book this property as soon as possible because I guarantee you will not regret it!"

  • July Fourth Weekend

"My friends and I have an unfortunate habit of deciding a week before major holidays that we want to get out of town. This always leaves us scrambling to find a place to rent. Frank's home in the Poconos was available and Frank was prompt in his responses. He was even willing to accommodate our potentially oversized group! The house was located within 10 minutes of a grocery store, a liquor store, a beer mart, great pizza and an amazing butcher shop, which was well suited for our plan to spend the weekend vacillating between drunk and food coma. Which we did. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back! Some pros and cons: PROS: -Enough beds for an eight-person group, including two single people -Great front porch with charcoal grill -Lots of natural light from front windows -Nice backyard seating area with benches and table -Large kitchen table accommodated our whole group -Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and tools -No nearby neighbors -Beautiful back yard and neighborhood (fully half the group went on walks or runs because it was so nice) -Nearby lake had activities and was a great area to spend an afternoon -Ceiling fans in the bedrooms! CONS: -There wasn't enough light in the living room after dark. We had a lot of crafters and board gamers in our group, and it got difficult to see our work and fight for table space in the well-lit kitchen area. -Downstairs with pool table and additional TV was very humid, even while running the dehumidifier. We only used the space on the first night but slipped so much on the slick tile that we ended up going outside instead. -There was a fire pit in the back yard that was expressly forbidden from use. I don't know if it was a stipulation from the owner or a local ordinance, but we would've really liked to have been able to use that. -As we were leaving on the last day there was a distinct sewage smell from the downstairs bathroom. We hadn't had that issue the entire weekend, and it could have just been from one of the guys not admitting to a particularly pungent bowel movement, but we were concerned."
