Perfect getaway for everyone; creativity surrounds
"WOW! We were dazzled from the first minute to the last... Joan and Victor met us in the courtyard with 2 locally made, cold craft beers and a lively chat. Super inviting and both creative forces... As ex New Yorkers, it was exciting to be surrounded by all that energy-- The Unique stone 'wire factory' building with creative endeavors at every turn. The loft area allowed this family of 5 (3 lumbering teenage boys) to spread out, play cards, watch videos, cook, read and catch up on sleep. Terrific shower and tub. Laundry in suite was nice after we were soaked from rafting! Then there is the beautifully nostalgic FLOW restaurant with the river underfoot and delightful courtyard with stone walls (& polished bowling balls!) for sharing take out food and a bottle of wine. Victor's paintings, font collection and gallery is hauntingly sentimental, beautiful, colorful and interesting. Pianos abound which my son enjoyed (and we did too!). Joan and Victor are inviting, welcoming, accessible and exceptional hosts. The town of Jim Thorpe/Mauch Chunk is full of wonderful American Industrialist history, and breathtakingly beautiful vistas. Good places for breakfast or coffees, quick take out and of course loads of outdoorsy things to do. An easy 2 hour ride to NYC for the day (which we did). Don't miss the wonderful Italian food up and over the hill in Lehighton called SAPORE (pink sauce recommended!)... We played cards to the wee hours, we rafted, we chatted, our phones were put away (although WIFI is there and easy to use for quick check ins to the rest of the world). highly recommended for a family, girls or guys weekend, WEDDINGS, parties, couples getaway... 5 Stars hands down...Just what this family needed!"

We will be coming back! Larry was a fantastic host and the house was AMAZING!
"Larry has not missed a detail with this house. We had 9 people stay in our group for 4th July weekend and we had a BLAST!! We all agreed this is the best vacation rental we've ever had in the Pocono.
Upon arrival, Larry had a welcome basket with goodies, water and treats for our dog who came along for the weekend. What a pleasant welcome gift! A welcome letter included with tons of info of things to do around the area and where to find local shops or restaurants. Larry has instructions all around the house which is perfect for making sure we know how to operate the hot tub (as this can easily be messed up!!) etc.
The house is equipped for a fun filled weekend! Pool table, ping pong, a whole cupboard stocked with games, fuse ball, the list is endless. We all enjoyed plenty of time in the hot tub which was large and worked perfectly!!
The house was spotless, plenty of towels and linens provided. All cleaning products and some non-perishable groceries provided which is great so you don't have to buy staples for just the weekend. Previous guests have probably 'donated' goods for the next round of guests which is awesome.
Larry was always available and responded to emails promptly. A perfect host and pleasure to communicate with.
I can't wait to come back and hopefully spend more than 3 nights next time round."

"We stayed for a 4-night long weekend at this place. We did a list of activities in the area, but ended up staying inside the house most of the time, as it was really convenient, cozy, and warm. The house is big, contains many rooms, including a kids' room with games and two sets of double bunk beds; our 3 years old stayed in that room for a good chunk of the trip; the rest she spent in the patio, painting on the picnic table. The living room is really nice -- big and comfortable, containing a fire place and couches. But the best was the kitchen and dining area; there's nothing you can't find in the kitchen (we even made pizza) and the dining area is really spacious.
Lastly, the owner is great. Not only she provided all the information beforehand, and the place was definitely spotless when we arrived, she also helped us after we forgot one of our bags when checking out. Kudos."

"Great last minute find in the Poconos. Wanted to get away with my dogs and this fit the bill. Very well stocked with amenities. Everything was exactly as described in the lease. Loved sitting out on the deck and hearing the sounds of the waterfall nearby. Very relaxing!"
