  • Awesome summer vacation house!

"This is our 3rd year at the lake. But, the first in this house. We are proud to say this has been our best trip so far! With 8 kids ranging from 3-14, everyone had a blast. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, corn hole down by the dock (brought our own), walks to the ice cream shop & a bubble bath in bathing suits in the jet tub for the smaller kids! We found ALL of the other people using docks to be VERY friendly. We shared bait with a neighbor and got invited to go tubing by another. The house is very clean, well stocked with everything you could need & we loved the layout. With such large group in the house, we weren't "on top of each other" when everyone was inside. We called about the grill not functioning properly and it was fixed within hours of the call. We were very impressed. If considering a trip, I recommend: taking a trip to Boulder Field & hike to water fall on Hawk Falls trail, get wings from Boulder View (call ahead!), visit Nicks Lake house on Sunday afternoon for live music and cocktails, & buy your groceries at Aharts but your meat from Hazle Park. Stay in this house! (But shop around for linens) We are already talking about our 2015 trip! Thank you so much Ellyn!!"

  • July Fourth Weekend

"My friends and I have an unfortunate habit of deciding a week before major holidays that we want to get out of town. This always leaves us scrambling to find a place to rent. Frank's home in the Poconos was available and Frank was prompt in his responses. He was even willing to accommodate our potentially oversized group! The house was located within 10 minutes of a grocery store, a liquor store, a beer mart, great pizza and an amazing butcher shop, which was well suited for our plan to spend the weekend vacillating between drunk and food coma. Which we did. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back! Some pros and cons: PROS: -Enough beds for an eight-person group, including two single people -Great front porch with charcoal grill -Lots of natural light from front windows -Nice backyard seating area with benches and table -Large kitchen table accommodated our whole group -Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and tools -No nearby neighbors -Beautiful back yard and neighborhood (fully half the group went on walks or runs because it was so nice) -Nearby lake had activities and was a great area to spend an afternoon -Ceiling fans in the bedrooms! CONS: -There wasn't enough light in the living room after dark. We had a lot of crafters and board gamers in our group, and it got difficult to see our work and fight for table space in the well-lit kitchen area. -Downstairs with pool table and additional TV was very humid, even while running the dehumidifier. We only used the space on the first night but slipped so much on the slick tile that we ended up going outside instead. -There was a fire pit in the back yard that was expressly forbidden from use. I don't know if it was a stipulation from the owner or a local ordinance, but we would've really liked to have been able to use that. -As we were leaving on the last day there was a distinct sewage smell from the downstairs bathroom. We hadn't had that issue the entire weekend, and it could have just been from one of the guys not admitting to a particularly pungent bowel movement, but we were concerned."

"Thank you so much for renting your beautiful well maintained log cabin to our family. This is a great vacation gateway. The owner was reachable via text or email to all our questions within seconds. We enjoyed every bit of our stay and it felt like home. This place is very close to the lake and beach . We enjoyed paddle boating, walks around the lake and many more...It is situated in a great location that is convenient to a lot of attractions.... I will definitely recommend this place to our friends.Thank you once again!"

  • Cozy home and a beautiful location

"This home was more than what we expected and Sandy is such a sweetheart. We arrived late Friday night and she kindly offered us to spend the entire Sunday instead of checking out at 3pm. She was very accommodating and made sure we saw everything we expected. Kitchen is fully equipped so all you need to bring is food to cook. This home faces the lake so you have the most beautiful view especially during Fall. We took out boats through our entire weekend to soak in the beauty of the season. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway and just wants to relax."
