  • Really nice!

"It really is just like in the photos. Access and parking in the back. Beautifully maintained, clean and very comfortable. Beds were more comfortable than home and there were only 4 of us so we had lots of room to spread out. Washing machine was extremely convenient and location in the town is perfect. The owner and manager both provided wonderful customer service. The town closes down really early during the week, so the kitchen was great. And the bike and hike trails are worth the trip. I would go back, and definitely recommend."

  • A Little Bit of Heaven.....

"We're still basking in the afterglow of one of the best family vacations we've ever had. This beautifully appointed, spacious home on the largest cove in Lake Wallenpaupack is truly a little bit of Heaven. The first class, rustic interior can accommodate a large group of all ages. The master bedroom, with a king sized bed and spacious bath, which includes a jacuzzi tub and a stand-alone tiled shower, is fit for a king and queen. Three other bedrooms, one of which is on the kitchen and patio level and suitable for parents-in-law, and full baths within short steps, provide plenty of privacy. A third floor loft, with two sets of bunk beds, a ping-pong and pool table, board and video games, is a perfect setting for kids indoors where they can make all the noise they want without annoying the adults. A large picture window in the dining area provides a panoramic view of the lake. Add the patio, fire-pit area below, and the lake-front dock and swimming area suitable for young children, and this vacation home is perfect for making family memories. We'll be back next year; can't wait."

  • good deal for the cost

"Pros the house is located minutes from Jim Thorpe (by car) and in the Bear Creek Lake Development. The house has a washer and dryer which is great so there isn't a huge laundry day when you get home.Nice information binder with fliers to area activities, very helpful. Cons, The picture of the dining living area shows six chairs, four at the table and two at the sofa table-the two at the sofa table are no where to be found. There are folding chairs but that isn't the same. The ad says, sleeps six...we were five. The one room has a queen bed and another has a double (good for couples or very young children other wise it sleeps one). The other room had a day bed (no pull out riser) with a thin hard as a rock mattress. (this counts as a twin) and then there is a fold away bed with another hard mattress (another twin). The young men in our group chose the sofa and one curled up on the love seat as an alternative to the "twin beds" offered. I wish I had known would have brought air mattresses. (If you have them bring them). There is a $60.00 cleaning charge-the cleaning lady should be fired. The place is dirty. There are cobwebs in all the corners. The dishes were dirty in the cabinets (food particles on some). The steps into the house are falling apart. They are soft and flex when stepped on-someone is going to get hurt. I would say the span is too long and there isn't any support under them. The lake is a walk across a busy street but you can walk it. I was disappointed to see that Bear Creek Lake is mostly private beach/lake front with two smaller community beach/fronts. Also for the tec connected there isn't any wifi. You might catch some at the lake and in town at the vistor's center, but none at the house. Over all the house served it's function for us (get the family together) and the price was in budget but I can see room for improvement."
