  • Lovey farmhouse with lots of character.

"Our family stayed here July 4 week 2013 and had a great time. Lots of room for all of us, and we enjoyed the yard and fully equipped kitchen. Lots of back roads to hike. We have family in the area and it was great to have a nice place to stay and have our own space. 3 small grandkids, and 6 adults... plenty of sleeping space for everyone. Highly recommend. Beverly, was very kind and gracious."

  • good deal for the cost

"Pros the house is located minutes from Jim Thorpe (by car) and in the Bear Creek Lake Development. The house has a washer and dryer which is great so there isn't a huge laundry day when you get home.Nice information binder with fliers to area activities, very helpful. Cons, The picture of the dining living area shows six chairs, four at the table and two at the sofa table-the two at the sofa table are no where to be found. There are folding chairs but that isn't the same. The ad says, sleeps six...we were five. The one room has a queen bed and another has a double (good for couples or very young children other wise it sleeps one). The other room had a day bed (no pull out riser) with a thin hard as a rock mattress. (this counts as a twin) and then there is a fold away bed with another hard mattress (another twin). The young men in our group chose the sofa and one curled up on the love seat as an alternative to the "twin beds" offered. I wish I had known would have brought air mattresses. (If you have them bring them). There is a $60.00 cleaning charge-the cleaning lady should be fired. The place is dirty. There are cobwebs in all the corners. The dishes were dirty in the cabinets (food particles on some). The steps into the house are falling apart. They are soft and flex when stepped on-someone is going to get hurt. I would say the span is too long and there isn't any support under them. The lake is a walk across a busy street but you can walk it. I was disappointed to see that Bear Creek Lake is mostly private beach/lake front with two smaller community beach/fronts. Also for the tec connected there isn't any wifi. You might catch some at the lake and in town at the vistor's center, but none at the house. Over all the house served it's function for us (get the family together) and the price was in budget but I can see room for improvement."

"We stayed at this property for christmas weekend, loved the house. It was big and comfortable, very clean, with every thing you need to have a good time staying there. Kids had a lot of entertainments too. We would be back in the summer. Thanks Chuck and Elaine."

  • Great location

"Just left from ski weekend at Onalake home. Had a great time. Home was very clean and had everything you could need. Sometimes homes look better in pictures, this home was even better than the pictures. Location can't be beat. Extremely close to big boulder and Jack Frost ski mountain. Homeowners were extremely nice and very accommodating!!! I can see why they have several retuning guests!!!"

Stroudsburg Travel Tips

Enjoy a Getaway in one of the Stroudsburg Cabins

If you're hoping to get away to Stroudsburg cabins, then you'll appreciate all the amenities your cabin has to offer. Whether it's a fireplace for those cozy evenings, a fully equipped kitchen for creating nice family dinners, or a hot tub for romantic nights, it's all a step above what you'd find in a confined hotel room. Choose among Stroudsburg house rentals a place that truly can be your vacation home, not just a place to stay for a few nights. Another advantage of Poconos vacation rentals is location. These properties make it easy to take in the beauty of nature. You can enjoy hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching from many Stroudsburg house rentals.

Area Activities in the Poconos

For the outdoor enthusiast, renting a cabin in the Poconos lets you enjoy a day of skiing at Shawnee or Camelback. Taking the kids to the nearby indoor water park, theme park, or animal park is also an option. For the adults, you can check out Mount Airy Casino or spend the day at Deerfield Spa. If shopping is your passion, then spend the day at Crossings Factory Outlet. After a long day of excitement, then you can head on over to Gracie's Place for some great food and live jazz, blues, and comedy entertainment.

The History and Culture

Although history and culture surround you while staying in Stroudsburg cabins, you may want to venture out to experience more of what the Poconos has to offer. You can take a ride on one of the first steam trains ever to ride the rails or view the Driebe Freight Station and Art Gallery. Other great tours for culture lovers include taking a stroll back in time at Quiet Valley, a living historical farm.
