  • Magical

"We arrived at The Water House on a Friday evening from New York. Including a stop to pick up food and wood for the weekend, the drive took us under two hours. The minute we drove into the long driveway, we were under the property's spell. When we crossed the footbridge over the babbling creek, the house appeared through the tall pines like something out of a fairy tale illustrated by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The photos here tell half the story. The owners treat you like family and do everything to make you feel at home, while giving you total privacy. The Water House is full of history and charm. It's spacious, yet cozy. It's near enough to town, yet far from civilization. Surrounded by trees, ferns, and water, visible from the many well-placed windows, the house feels magical, inside and out. The surrounding acreage serves as an "experimental forest," in which the American chestnut is being reintroduced. In the evening, stars are abundant. The only problem we had was deciding where to read: in the screened porch? On the built-in daybed with a view of untouched woodland? In one of the comfortable chairs by the fireplace? We slept like babies, in complete silence and total darkness. We returned to New York on Sunday refreshed and ready to plan a return trip."

  • Cabin in The Woods

"We took our two young boys here for a winter weekend and they had a fantastic time. The house was spacious, clean and fully equipped with games and entertainment and the wood stove was heavenly. We went for a long hike in the nearby Gouldsboro State Park and swam in the indoor pool. It was a pity a lot of the local amenities were closed but it was between seasons. I would definitely return here either in the summer or winter season when everything is open."

  • Contemporary Log Cabin

"The Log Cabin, is a beautiful place to stay. The owners really did try to think of everything you might need. They had extra toiletries if you needed (I used a razor), they had several games and puzzles for different ages, interests, and abilities, DVD's (we didn't use them, we brought the kids favorites along), magazines and of course information on local attractions. We used the pool several days and my husband went fishing at two of the three lakes. The cabin was clean and the photos were accurate in the appearance. A big plus for us were the deer that came in the yard. They would stay even when we came outside for a better view of them. The one problem we did have was addressed over the phone--the owner walked me through the steps to resolve the problem. Besides the pool and fishing, we loved just riding around looking for deer. My grandchildren love "hunting" for deer as much as my children did. They were very excited to see some bucks as well as the does and fawns. For families with children, I recommend the "zoo"--Claws and Paws Wild animal park. It is one of the things my grandchildren love to visit each year. You can feed the giraffe, visit turtle town actually going in with the tortoises, and go in and feed the Lory parrots. It is a very intimate zoo. You get closer to the animals while still being far enough to be safe than in a larger zoo. Thank you Renee and Heather for making your cabin available for others to enjoy!"

  • Much-Needed Relaxing Girls Weekend!

"This place was amazing! So much character and charm. Joan was so nice and a pleasure to work with. Their refurbished factory/loft has a beautiful Art Gallery downstairs and The Loft is less than 3/4 mile from downtown Jim Thorpe. My girls and I-a total of 6- had plenty of space to spread out and relax. We will definitely be visiting The Loft again! Glen Onoko trail and Whitewater Raffting Adventures are a short drive away...only about 10. And we ate at a fabulous restaurant called Moya. There are a ton of little Vintage and Consignment Shops downtown...perfect for out little getaway. The only thing I will be bringing for my next trip up are additional pillows...and maybe my own blender for daiquiris...the one that was there wasn't large enough to make 6 daiquiris, but, Joan has furnished the place with all the comforts of home and we definitely look forward to going up again!!! Thank you Joan"

Stroudsburg Travel Tips

Enjoy a Getaway in one of the Stroudsburg Cabins

If you're hoping to get away to Stroudsburg cabins, then you'll appreciate all the amenities your cabin has to offer. Whether it's a fireplace for those cozy evenings, a fully equipped kitchen for creating nice family dinners, or a hot tub for romantic nights, it's all a step above what you'd find in a confined hotel room. Choose among Stroudsburg house rentals a place that truly can be your vacation home, not just a place to stay for a few nights. Another advantage of Poconos vacation rentals is location. These properties make it easy to take in the beauty of nature. You can enjoy hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching from many Stroudsburg house rentals.

Area Activities in the Poconos

For the outdoor enthusiast, renting a cabin in the Poconos lets you enjoy a day of skiing at Shawnee or Camelback. Taking the kids to the nearby indoor water park, theme park, or animal park is also an option. For the adults, you can check out Mount Airy Casino or spend the day at Deerfield Spa. If shopping is your passion, then spend the day at Crossings Factory Outlet. After a long day of excitement, then you can head on over to Gracie's Place for some great food and live jazz, blues, and comedy entertainment.

The History and Culture

Although history and culture surround you while staying in Stroudsburg cabins, you may want to venture out to experience more of what the Poconos has to offer. You can take a ride on one of the first steam trains ever to ride the rails or view the Driebe Freight Station and Art Gallery. Other great tours for culture lovers include taking a stroll back in time at Quiet Valley, a living historical farm.
