  • Relaxing, Quiet Stay

"Two of us stayed at this property in early December. What a relaxing, quiet trip! The home is just as the pictures show and our favorite elements were the game room and hot tub. We were lucky enough to get a small coating of snow one day and it was so pretty to sit in the hot tub and look out at the snow covered trees! The house was clean and well kept. My only two slightly negative thoughts were that 1, more amenities such as paper towels, toilet paper, and foil/saran wrap could be provided, and 2, we had no luck using Chromecast or Netflix on the TVs to watch movies. We spent most of our days in the cabin, but did get out to the outlets and Mount Airy Casino one day, and Big Boulder for skiing one day. I'd recommend this for a low key, slow paced vacation!"

  • Couldn't ask for more!

"This house was perfect. Just like another review said it checked all of the boxes, but the most important one being its distance to the one and only bar/restaurant that is walkable within the whole estates! Then again, the hot tub could have been the most important aspect...or the awesome pool table!? All in all this house will lend itself to a comfortable yet really fun time - ohh and it was really clean! Zero complaints from the 8 of us who stayed there, even the pullout couch in the loft wasn't too shabby! Also really nice to have responsive owners who are easy to work with."

  • Amazing weekend

"The housing is beautiful and spacious. It was very cozy. There were 18 of us but it did not feel claustrophobic at all because the bedrooms were in 3 different levels. House is kept very clean. Marsha was very helpful and answered all our questions. We enjoyed our stay very much. We will definitely be back. =)"

  • Karen M and family

"My family of four (2 teenage daughters) loved our short weekend vacation at The White Rabbit cottage. Charlie was an amazing owner. He gave us all info beforehand, called us on our arrival to make sure everything was in order - which it absolutely was. He gave us suggestions on activities since the weather wasn't totally on our side. He was available for all questions we had. The house itself was perfect for us - plenty space yet still cozy and comfortable. Very clean and all amenities we needed. We would certainly recommend this property and will definitely stay again at this cottage when we return to the Jim Thorpe area. We had a lovely waterfall hike at the Glen Onoko falls and a bike ride on the Lehigh Gorge trail. High winds and some snow still on the ground made the total adventure limited, but it was great just being able to spend time together as a family in the inviting cottage. We cooked meals there and the kitchen was superbly supplied. We also played games we had brought. Had a fantastic time. Thanks again Charlie for your wonderful home and interest. Definitely a five star rating!"

Philadelphia & Its Countryside Travel Tips

Reaching the Heart of Philadelphia Could not be Easier

Reaching your Philadelphia area vacation rentals, around the area that gave birth to the American Revolution, could not be easier. Philadelphia has an international airport and is on three Interstate highways, I-95, I-76 and I-676, the Vine Street Expressway. As with all major cities, it has an excellent road system to make getting in and around the city straightforward. Choosing Philadelphia area condos puts visitors at the center of the original 13 colonies, in a city that was once the nation’s capital.

Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, is known for hot summers, mild falls and springs, and cold winters, with an average snowfall of 20.5 inches.

Philadelphia: One of America’s Most Historic Cities

Most visitors to "Philly" head to the Liberty Bell Center to see one of the main symbols of the American Revolution, the Liberty Bell. There is a wealth of history waiting to be discovered. Visit the site of the meetings of Congress and the Constitutional Convention at the City Tavern in the Old City as well as Carpenters Hall where delegates met in 1774 to speak out against the King. In Declaration House, visitors can see where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence and Independence Hall where it was eventually signed. A huge variety of museums awaits visitors, covering everything such as natural sciences, African American history, science, archaeology and anthropology.

Children will enjoy a day at the "Please Touch" Museum. While here, explore Christ Church Burial Ground. Dating from 1695, the cemetery is the final resting place of Benjamin Franklin. Another fascinating tour can be taken at Eastern State Penitentiary to visit the cellblocks, solitary cells, Al Capone’s cell and Death Row. For a sightseeing tour with a difference, take a splash in the Delaware River and Ride the Ducks. There are also several wonderful gardens and arboretums to visit here. A visit to the Battleship USS New Jersey is worth a trip. Do not miss a trip to Valley Forge National Historic Park, site of the famous battle of 1777/78. Children will be enthralled with the "Once upon a Nation" tour to this historic area.

The city center is a great for shopping and includes grocery stores operated by Amish farmers selling fresh local produce. Visitors should not leave without having tasted the famed cheese steaks that originated here.

Incredible Sights and Adventures on Your Doorstep

Within a short drive of Philadelphia area resorts, visitors can tour several local wineries and vineyards. Children will also enjoy Sesame Place, a theme park based on the TV show with 14 acres of rides and attractions. In Delaware County, Linvilla Orchards features 300 acres of education and recreation. Longwood Gardens with its children’s programs, woodlands and gardens also makes for a wonderful day out. Families looking for outdoor adventures should head to Ridley Creek State park for biking, horseback riding and fishing. At Washington Crossing Historic Park, enjoy the surroundings and visit the site where George Washington led his exhausted soldiers across the icy Delaware River to attack the Hessians at Trenton. Enjoy a day at Tyler State park where the original farm has combined with beautiful woodland to create a wonderful recreation area.
