"My husband and I rented this house for two months this spring arriving to bare limbs at the beginning of April and being startled by magnolia blossoms a week later, and then azalea, dogwood, japanese maple, rhododendron in beautiful progression, not to mention all the wildflowers along the trail across the road. We found this house just a beautiful place to be. Comfortable Adirondack chairs and a gazebo by the brook provided wonderful outdoor space for writing, working, and relaxing (the wifi reaches out to the gazebo, so I could really treat it as my office in nice weather).
The house itself is a wonderful blend of old and new. A very comfortable and light addition, with 2 luxurious bathrooms and a well equipped and beautiful kitchen with a fine view of the garden. We did a lot of cooking and found it a very pleasant kitchen. The 18th century part of the house is furnished with lovely old things in keeping with its stone walls. The stairs are steep, and the only bathrooms are on the ground floor, so this house would not work well for people who get up during the night or have trouble with stairs, but my elderly parents stayed for two nights on the sofa couch downstairs quite happily. At other times we had younger visitors who stayed comfortably on the trundle beds in the second upstairs bedroom.
We had not spent time in this area before and found Bucks County quite wonderful. The tow path along the canal is right there and great for biking or walking, there is also a lovely wooded path along Tohickon Creek. Great waterways nearby, as well as lots of fine restaurants, museums, shops, and even a post office and a little groceries where you can buy basics a short walk away.
This was a working holiday for us and so worth noting both that the house's wifi is excellent and that our Verizon cell phones had very poor coverage. We managed by skyping or by asking people we needed to talk to by phone to call us at the land-line. But if what you are looking for is a real break, bad cell coverage might be a plus!
We found the owners very straightforward, efficient, and responsive. This is a very special house."

"I can't recommend this cozy cottage highly enough. I was in town for a family gathering and so happy that I found this historic property and opted to forgo the local hotel! The owners were wonderful to communicate with and the house perfect for the two of us with the added room if we had an additional guest. We cooked breakfast and ate on the big porch enjoying the beautiful lawn, landscaping and grounds. The bed was very comfy and the house had everything we needed. Plenty of room and a great location for our stay. A+ I will be back again for sure!"

"I stayed here with some friends for a nearby wedding. The house is comfortable and homey, and the host was very gracious and welcoming. We loved staying here and are looking forward to visiting New Hope again."
