  • Beautiful House, Great Manayunk Location

"I miss this house! I had an extended stay in this house, and it is absolutely perfect for this. The house is furnished gorgeously with an incredible kitchen. The appliances were great (great wine fridge and top of the line oven) which made cooking in this house very enjoyable. The house is very large... Two large queen beds and many extra rooms with futons and couches. The master suite is very nice... Very large space with beautiful glass shower and walk in closet. One of my favorite parts of the house was the outdoor area. Most rentals (and most houses) in Philly do not have outdoor space. The covered porch and garden were beautiful while I was there in the summer. I have no complaints about the house whatsoever. I would NOT recommend this house for people who have difficulty with stairs. The house is the classic Philly brownstone, three floor style with very steep stairs and lots of them. There's no banister on the first floor stairs, so be careful with small kids. But the absence of a banister keeps the space nice and open. As far as the area, Manayunk is a great place to visit and live. Main Street, which is just a short walk away, had some of the best cuisine and shopping I've seen. The house is located near the Manayunk Brewing Company end of Main Street. Gorgeous, lively area. Although it is not in Center City, the train is easily accessible (9 min walk to Wissahickon train station). Driving from this area into the city can be awful depending on the time of day... 76 is the only real way into the city, and AVOID THIS during rush hours. But as anyone who knows Philly knows, 76 is part of the Philly traffic experience. Overall my stay was wonderful."

  • Beautiful home

"My husband and I stayed here for a week in Oct. 2014. The Fall leaves were beautiful and the home was so much more than we imagined. The owner has decorated this home so beautifully. It is comfortable and so organized down to labeling each and every light switch! The kitchen is stocked with everything needed and more. The beds are comfortable. We had a fire in the fireplace almost every night. We rode bikes along the tow path and explored the lovely little towns nearby. Our friends visited us from NJ and they want to come back when we visit again next year - and stay longer! So happy to have found this gem in beautiful Bucks County!"

The house is a very nice and cozy place you will feel like you are really at home. The manager Mrs. Jane was very nice. Thanks Ms. Inez for making my Birthday celebration a good one. I love this place and hope to rent it again. The place is beautiful and true to the pictures. Ms. Inez again I will like to Thank you."

  • Perfect location for bikers

"We came to Philadelphia with our bikes and the Manayunk Terrace was a perfect location for us. The apartment is just a few streets up from the Schuylkill River Trail - which runs 13 kms to downtown and 30 kms in the other direction to Valley Forge. We found Manayunk to be interesting, friendly and safe. There's a great neighbourhood pub just kitty corner called the Eagle Tavern. There are not full kitchen facilities in the studio apartment but we managed to create light meals (thanks to Joan for the skillet) for three nights and ate out for two others. Yes, parking seemed to be a bit scarce but since we only used our bikes it was not an issue. Overall, a five star stay due to location, the state of the accommodation and value."

Philadelphia & Its Countryside Travel Tips

Reaching the Heart of Philadelphia Could not be Easier

Reaching your Philadelphia area vacation rentals, around the area that gave birth to the American Revolution, could not be easier. Philadelphia has an international airport and is on three Interstate highways, I-95, I-76 and I-676, the Vine Street Expressway. As with all major cities, it has an excellent road system to make getting in and around the city straightforward. Choosing Philadelphia area condos puts visitors at the center of the original 13 colonies, in a city that was once the nation’s capital.

Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, is known for hot summers, mild falls and springs, and cold winters, with an average snowfall of 20.5 inches.

Philadelphia: One of America’s Most Historic Cities

Most visitors to "Philly" head to the Liberty Bell Center to see one of the main symbols of the American Revolution, the Liberty Bell. There is a wealth of history waiting to be discovered. Visit the site of the meetings of Congress and the Constitutional Convention at the City Tavern in the Old City as well as Carpenters Hall where delegates met in 1774 to speak out against the King. In Declaration House, visitors can see where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence and Independence Hall where it was eventually signed. A huge variety of museums awaits visitors, covering everything such as natural sciences, African American history, science, archaeology and anthropology.

Children will enjoy a day at the "Please Touch" Museum. While here, explore Christ Church Burial Ground. Dating from 1695, the cemetery is the final resting place of Benjamin Franklin. Another fascinating tour can be taken at Eastern State Penitentiary to visit the cellblocks, solitary cells, Al Capone’s cell and Death Row. For a sightseeing tour with a difference, take a splash in the Delaware River and Ride the Ducks. There are also several wonderful gardens and arboretums to visit here. A visit to the Battleship USS New Jersey is worth a trip. Do not miss a trip to Valley Forge National Historic Park, site of the famous battle of 1777/78. Children will be enthralled with the "Once upon a Nation" tour to this historic area.

The city center is a great for shopping and includes grocery stores operated by Amish farmers selling fresh local produce. Visitors should not leave without having tasted the famed cheese steaks that originated here.

Incredible Sights and Adventures on Your Doorstep

Within a short drive of Philadelphia area resorts, visitors can tour several local wineries and vineyards. Children will also enjoy Sesame Place, a theme park based on the TV show with 14 acres of rides and attractions. In Delaware County, Linvilla Orchards features 300 acres of education and recreation. Longwood Gardens with its children’s programs, woodlands and gardens also makes for a wonderful day out. Families looking for outdoor adventures should head to Ridley Creek State park for biking, horseback riding and fishing. At Washington Crossing Historic Park, enjoy the surroundings and visit the site where George Washington led his exhausted soldiers across the icy Delaware River to attack the Hessians at Trenton. Enjoy a day at Tyler State park where the original farm has combined with beautiful woodland to create a wonderful recreation area.
