  • Great place for a fun family vacation!

"We loved the Yough Treehouse! We had toured Fallingwater before we checked in, and when we arrived I said the house was our "mini Fallingwater" above the river. Very comfortable for our family of four, also very clean with tasteful decor. Several nice restaurants nearby, and walking and biking trails close. We brought our bikes and loved the 11 mile trail along the river. The Yough Lake is two minutes up the road with a cute beach that was almost empty on weekdays. The hot tub overlooking the river was great to soak in after paddling 10 miles! We really enjoyed the layout of the house, especially the loft, firepit and hot tub. Thank you so much for a great family vacation and for all the tips & info you provided, Kara. We all had a blast, and our kids (age 9 and 6) can't wait to come back!"

  • Great location in a peaceful town along the GAP

"We had six people in the Dam Yough House for four nights. The owners were very responsive when we had questions prior to arrival. The house was very clean and well-stocked, just as advertised. Everything was in good working order. The neighborhood was very quiet overnight. It was an easy walk into town, and also a short walk/bike ride to the Great Allegheny Passage. The location is fantastic for anyone wanting to experience the GAP; some of the nicest riding on the GAP runs both directions from Confluence. Also, Ohiopyle, and all its activities, are a short drive away (and only about 10 miles by bicycle.) We would definitely stay here again. When you stay here, make sure to dine at least once at the River's Edge Cafe, just a few blocks away."

  • Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway

"My husband and I stayed at Paddler's Lane Chalet over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2013, and I'm finally getting around to writing a review of Paddler's Lane now that the hub-bub of the holidays are over with. First, we choose Paddler's Lane because we wanted some much-needed rest and relaxation at a location that would be peaceful, serene, and far away from the hustle-bustle. We were not disappointed in our choice with Paddler's Lane. The chalet is gorgeous - the photos truly don't do it justice. And the location right on the river is perfect. The train traffic, while definitely noisy, didn't bother my husband and I. In fact, we found it interesting and a bit of a novelty to watch the trains go whizzing by. We slept just great - the bedroom we used (the river side bedroom) was comfy. The bedroom on the other side of the chalet looked to be equally comfy/cozy. Everything from the bathrooms to the kitchen (and everything in between) was spotless. We didn't meet Robin but we fell in love with Dan. He was/is the perfect host - friendly without being intrusive. As well, he was very attentive to any need. Truly, we can't say enough wonderful things about Dan. We both said that he's the type of guy you'd love to have as a neighbor and hang out with. Just a really good guy. The same goes for the chalet itself - the furniture was all very comfortable, the tvs were great, the fireplace ROCKED (we had wonderful fires every night), and there are a ton of DVD movies to choose from to watch. The area is really charming. Confluence is even smaller than we had anticipated, but again, we loved that. And if you want/need a "larger city", Uniontown is a very short drive away. We went to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob and had a WONDERFUL time - even a visit late in the season such as our's was super. One last suggestion - go to The Stone House Restaurant and Country Inn for dinner - the food was simply amazing and it's not far of a drive. We will definitely be coming back to Paddler's Lane in the future - we want to explore the beautiful area in the summer or early fall when we can make use of the hiking trails and all the water activities available in the area."

  • Absolutely Perfect!!!

"Words cannot do this place justice. Mona and Bryon were kind enough to allow us to exchange our wedding vows at their cottage...and we stayed for our honeymoon afterwards...I cannot think of a more perfect place to have started our lives together. The Fall foliage was breath taking. The numerous bird boxes and feeders scattered around the grounds brought a large variety of birds to be watched...The views are beautiful..there are mowed paths that weave around the property for taking walks...The pond was fun to fish in! There are some pretty big fish in that pond! It was a little chilly but that was fixed by building a nice fire in the fire pit. Their attention to detail is unmatched. You literally only need to bring your own food/drinks...everything else you need is there waiting for your arrival! The cottage is inviting and cozy...perfect for a couple wanting to get away and recharge. The loft bedroom is gorgeous with a VERY comfortable bed..storage for your clothes..windows that give you beautiful views of the property...the living room area is cute and they even provide a nice selection of dvd's and vhs movies to watch on the tv! Games were found tucked away in drawers or on shelves...The sun room was my favorite place...sitting at the table in the morning and watching the world wake up outside while having coffee and doing crossword puzzles was the perfect start to the day! The gas fireplace that sits across from the two incredibly comfortable arm chairs made the room picture perfect. The kitchen was easy to use...well equipped and had more than enough storage. The decor of the cottage is wonderful...I loved all the dragonfly decorations and the sculpted wood artwork...absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you looked you would find a cute little bird decoration tucked in and waiting to be found. So with all that said...the bottom line is...this place is perfect inside and out. Can't wait to go back! Thank you Mona and Bryon for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!"
