"My wife, daughter and I enjoyed 5 perfect days at the end of September in the Chalet. This was more than enough house for us and we hope to return with a group at sometime. The house is conveniently located right off of County Line Rd and just a couple of minutes from Seven Springs. We spent time hiking in Laurel Hill State Park and several days down in the Ohiopyle area, which are short drives as well. The chalet has a great deck, where we spent several afternoons relaxing and playing with our daughter who was only 15 months old at the time. The Kitchen had everything and more for cooking and the grill was more than adequate. Everything was in great condition. The home is not child proof, which is normal, so we just kept an eye on our daughter and it was not an issue at all. We spent the evenings out at the fire pit and in the lower level playing pool. There were only 3 of us, but I can see that this property has plenty of room to spread out and have your own space if you traveled with more than one family. We ate a couple times at Out of the Fire in Donegal, which is one of our favorites for lunch and dinner. It is BYOB, so remember that before you travel. There really isn't a close liquor store. You can purchase PA wines from Sarnellis which is nearby. Sarnelli's is a little market with a nice deli, that also has a wine tasting room attached to it. Another part of the trip that we enjoyed, was taking our daughter to Living Treasures Zoo. They have an impressive collection of animals, most of those you are able to feed either carrots or pellets purchased upon entry. We did purchase the insurance for the house, which unfortunately came into play due to an accident that my wife had. Both the owner and the insurance company could not have been easier to work with and hassle free in that process. Thanks again to the owners for sharing their chalet with us and we hope to be back in the near future."

  • Totally Charmed

"We could not have been more pleased with our time at "Creekside" in Ligonier. It was the perfect setting for our time with our two adult sons and their families. We ranged in age from 4yrs. to 64 yrs. and it met not only all our needs but our wants as well. The rental agent was extremely helpful. The house was very well maintained, spacious and equipped for just about every eventuality. The grounds were especially beautiful and the fire pit, lounges, badmitton and access to the Loyalhanna creek allowed us to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We loved the sun porch and the big table that seated the entire gang. The property's location in relation to Ligonier enabled us to take full advantage of everything Ligonier has to offer and made it an easy drive to Pittsburgh to take in a Pirates' game. We also visited Idlewild Park which was a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Other highlights: the park by the football field (the kids loved it!) The Creamery for delicious ice cream ( open until 9pm !!) and Du Soleil, a relatively new French restaurant and a perfect venue for the "old folks" to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I would recommend this one of a kind, fantastic property to anyone, but especially to people like myself who were born and raised in Ligonier but no longer have a family home to return to. A lovely way to mix the past and the present and introduce the next generation to the charms of The Valley. We'll be back!!"

  • Just as nice as advertised

"This is a beautiful property. I've never been to a vacation rental that was so well furnished (paper plates, cleaning supplies, tea, coffee, cooking oil, shampoo, games, etc). It was also very clean and welcoming, even with the gas fire on in the fireplace for our arrival. The lawn is immaculately maintained, and great for children. We also went to some of the very nearby state parks recommended by the owner, and they are very impressive too for outdoor activities. the owners are exceedingly responsive and friendly. I can't recommend this one enough."

  • Dozens of VRBO stays and this one tops the list

"The only negative I can say about Laurel Ridge Lodge is that pictures dont do this place justice. The house was in immaculate condition, the views spectacular, and was just what us group of 18 20-30 somethings needed. The only time we left the house was to get more beer! We enjoyed the outdoor area the most, with the pool reaching 9-10 ft deep and heated we could utilize it all day and night. The hot tubs were great and used regularly as well and Bocce ball might be our new favorite game! All the rooms were in great order and from what everyone said, all comfy. We never turned the TV on so I cant tell you how those work out, but if you do when you stay at a place like this you've got issues. I really could go on and on about this place but I'm sure you get the point. Thanks for sharing your vacation home with us, we'll be sure to be back in future years and my neighbor should be calling you soon, he's jealous and wants to book it"
