  • Quiet Stay in the Woods

"The house was large, spacious, and clean! It was well-stocked with linens and towels and any appliance we could need. The creek, gardens and woods around the house were my favorite part- a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the outdoor fire pit. This was a great place for a relaxing weekend in Ohiopyle!"

  • Secluded, beautiful setting

"Five of us stayed at the cabin for 6 days. The cabin was more than we expected. Although secluded in the woods, it had many of the conveniences of home. There was a dishwasher, as well as laundry and a drier. Since we engaged in many wet activities, the laundry facilities were very useful. Although it was a wet summer, the porches and the woods around the cabin had almost no mosquito problems. There is a flat screen TV with lots of channels, but why use it when there is so much natural beauty around. There is no air conditioning. Although we were at the cabin in August, we were quite comfortable. We brought extra fans but did not need them. The cabin has an outdoor fire pit as well as a grill. There is dry firewood under a tarp. There is poor cellphone reception, but the owners made the cabin telephone land line available. When we were not rafting or hiking, we made use of the kitchen to cook the tasty wild mushrooms that grow nearby in profusion. The cabin is affiliated with Beaver Creek Anglers and we had fun learning to do fly fishing. There were a lot of large trout in the nearby stream. We did not catch any, but we learned a lot from our fishing guide. (My home in Maryland is near a trout stream and I am going to practice my new fly fishing skills on the Gunpowder River.) The cabin overlooks a creek so you can have a nice view while you eat dinner. You do not see other people unless you drive into Ohiopyle. There are hiking trails right near the cabin, but the river and waterfalls of Ohiopyle Park are a short drive away."

  • Great family vacation

"The property was well maintained and very clean. The kids loved the fire pit for roasting hotdogs and making s'mores after our long days of activities. Turning Leaf was perfectly located in the center of all the activities we wanted to do. I appreciated that there were family friendly versions for every single thing that we did. I have a 10yr old and a 4yr old and it was so nice that we could do everything together: Laurel Caverns, zip lining, rafting, hiking, biking, and even Falling Water had a kid tour. Overall I was very pleased with the vacation and the cabin. The owner was nice, professional, and helpfully throughout the rental process. I have already recommended this vacation and cabin to my friends. We had a great time."

  • Perfect for large families and dog friendly

"We just completed our week at Trillium Lodge and had a wonderful time. We loved Ohiopyle and all the activities that the town has to offer. The lodge was very spacious, fully stocked with kitchen supplies, and dog friendly. We had a group of about 15 over the course of the week, and it was the perfect size to accommodate our large group. The kitchen was full of miscellaneous supplies like oil, spices, condiments, etc. which was wonderful. There were plenty of plates, bowls, utensils, serving ware, and cookware. The upstairs dining room table was a little small for our group, so we added a buffet table to the end that was supplied in the downstairs entertainment room. There are five rooms in the lower level, four have queen beds, and one has a bunk bed (full and twin). One of the rooms smelled a little mildewy, but there were two dehumidifiers around the lower level to help with that. The only problem is that the machines kicked off a high level of heat. Our visit was unfortunately during a freak heat wave across the country. It made for a hot and humid week (clearly the owners could not be faulted for the heat wave, but the upstairs main areas and master suite were unbearably hot and humid for three days, even when we opened the windows at night to let in the cool air). We were informed by local residents that the high temperatures that we experienced were highly uncommon and very rare, so the heat in the house may not be a normal problem. Other than the heat we had a wonderful time. There is a fire pit on the back side of the house which was great on one of the cooler evenings. There were plenty of bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The main room has an LCD tv with Dish network which we were grateful for when we needed down-time. And there were two grills so outdoor cooking was never a problem. We would most definitely consider returning to the lodge and were very happy with our experience. On a side note, if you visit the lodge during the summer, we strongly recommend Highwaters BBQ and Grill for dinner or lunch. They had free beer and excellent pulled pork & slaw!!! this was our go-to joint during the week when we didn't want to cook and loved every meal!"
