  • Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway

"My husband and I stayed at Paddler's Lane Chalet over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2013, and I'm finally getting around to writing a review of Paddler's Lane now that the hub-bub of the holidays are over with. First, we choose Paddler's Lane because we wanted some much-needed rest and relaxation at a location that would be peaceful, serene, and far away from the hustle-bustle. We were not disappointed in our choice with Paddler's Lane. The chalet is gorgeous - the photos truly don't do it justice. And the location right on the river is perfect. The train traffic, while definitely noisy, didn't bother my husband and I. In fact, we found it interesting and a bit of a novelty to watch the trains go whizzing by. We slept just great - the bedroom we used (the river side bedroom) was comfy. The bedroom on the other side of the chalet looked to be equally comfy/cozy. Everything from the bathrooms to the kitchen (and everything in between) was spotless. We didn't meet Robin but we fell in love with Dan. He was/is the perfect host - friendly without being intrusive. As well, he was very attentive to any need. Truly, we can't say enough wonderful things about Dan. We both said that he's the type of guy you'd love to have as a neighbor and hang out with. Just a really good guy. The same goes for the chalet itself - the furniture was all very comfortable, the tvs were great, the fireplace ROCKED (we had wonderful fires every night), and there are a ton of DVD movies to choose from to watch. The area is really charming. Confluence is even smaller than we had anticipated, but again, we loved that. And if you want/need a "larger city", Uniontown is a very short drive away. We went to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob and had a WONDERFUL time - even a visit late in the season such as our's was super. One last suggestion - go to The Stone House Restaurant and Country Inn for dinner - the food was simply amazing and it's not far of a drive. We will definitely be coming back to Paddler's Lane in the future - we want to explore the beautiful area in the summer or early fall when we can make use of the hiking trails and all the water activities available in the area."

  • Great House for a Large Family!

"We rented this property for a multi-generation family reunion/vacation. We needed plenty of space for 16 people to live together comfortably and this beautiful home was just what we were hoping for! It's nestled back in a quiet, wooded community with access to tennis courts, playgrounds and outdoor swimming pools. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed exploring Hidden Valley, hiking and hanging out on the lake beach at Laurel Hills State Park, and biking on the scenic GAP trail in Ohiopyle. After the day's activities, we'd cook delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchens and eat out on the back deck and relax while taking in the gorgeous view. Having 2 kitchens made food storage and preparation so much easier! We played a lot of group games and the great room provided plenty of space for family fun. The kids loved the game table and the wii! Everything we needed was provided, the rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!"

  • Great family vacation

"The property was well maintained and very clean. The kids loved the fire pit for roasting hotdogs and making s'mores after our long days of activities. Turning Leaf was perfectly located in the center of all the activities we wanted to do. I appreciated that there were family friendly versions for every single thing that we did. I have a 10yr old and a 4yr old and it was so nice that we could do everything together: Laurel Caverns, zip lining, rafting, hiking, biking, and even Falling Water had a kid tour. Overall I was very pleased with the vacation and the cabin. The owner was nice, professional, and helpfully throughout the rental process. I have already recommended this vacation and cabin to my friends. We had a great time."

  • Family Reunion

"We had a great time. The house is lovely. The pictures depict it well. We had a large group of 12, ages 17 to 87. The house was spacious, clean and well maintained. There was plenty of parking. We had six vehicles (mostly SUV’s). The kitchen was well equipped. My kids loved the fire pit the most. They sat for hours on Friday and Saturday nigh reconnecting with their out of state cousins. The house is very close to the lodge at Seven Springs. It was nice after spending a long day at the lodge doing activities that the house was less than five minutes away. The setting is so peaceful and quiet. Joyce was great to deal with and answered questions in a timely manor. My son and daughter-in-law took her suggestion to eat at the Out of the Fire Café and had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone and would rent again next year if it is available."
