  • Great location...perfect for multiple families!

"We had a great stay at Cottage 45 for a weekend over the summer. We came with lots of little kids all under the age of 6 and they all had a blast. It was a very easy walk over to the lodge and the activities they had were wonderful for them. We were definitely not bored. The house is exactly as described. Glad we found it and can't wait to go back!"

  • Fantastic Family Time!

"Our family of four spent the holidays in this wonderful condo. The children hit the slopes every day whenever they liked. We relaxed knowing that we were so close to the slopes that our kids could be independent. We loved the quiet, family time together and the owner was helpful and friendly. We even met the neighbors. We definitely recommend this condo!"

  • Peaceful, spacious, relaxing, what more can I say.

"We have stayed at numerous vacation rentals and Sylvan Retreat did not disappoint. This place is spacious, the room upstairs was wonderful for the kids to play in and the yard was marvelous. Plenty of room for all eight of us. We cancelled plans to stay home one night and grill, have a fire, and the kids caught fireflies. We played music and relaxed. The yard is truly a retreat. The kids loved the playset, I enjoyed the glider and the men loved the pool table and ping pong table in the garage. There was also a foosball game. It took me a bit to find the garage, but it is down the driveway. We took hikes on the trails and the kids and adults picked berries. I loved it that there was no TV in the living room, but in all the bedrooms. Phil had everything you need there and it was clean (which is my first priority.) No one was ready to leave and hope to be back."

Pennsylvania Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Pennsylvania Vacation Rentals

One of Pennsylvania's main attractions is its excellent amusement parks. On Lake Erie, there is the famous Splash Lagoon. This amusement park is a giant indoor water park where you can enjoy slides and rides, have a lazy tube ride or surf in a wave pool. Because it is an indoor venue, it can be enjoyed in every season, even when it is snowing outside. Other notable amusement parks include Conneaut Lake Park, Dutch Wonderland, Hershey Park, and Sandcastle Water Park. Pennsylvania is also home to some of the country's best museums. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is well known for its top quality exhibits. Pittsburg is famous for the Carnegie Museums, and Scranton is home to the unique Houdini Museum.

Getting to Pennsylvania Resort Rentals

The primary travel hub into Pennsylvania is the city of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia International Airport hosts regular commercial flights from other parts of the United States, Canada and Europe. The airport is well equipped to handle large volumes of travelers and well connected to the city with public transport and taxi services. For access to the western part of Pennsylvania, look for flights to Pittsburgh. If you are traveling to a vacation home on Lake Erie, you can consider flights to either Cleveland or Buffalo. There is a good road system that travels along the lakeshore between these two cities, providing easy access to Lake Erie vacation homes located in Pennsylvania. The rail routes in Pennsylvania are mostly in the eastern part of the state and form part of the train lines that run between Washington and New York City. One of the best ways to get around Pennsylvania is by car. If you are flying in from other parts of the globe, you can hire a vehicle from any one of the reputable agents at the airports.

Visitors to Pennsylvania Lodging

Pennsylvania is a great family vacation destination. The state is home to several top amusement parks which are ideal for family fun days. There are also more than 120 state parks where you can enjoy nature trails, fishing and hunting. Philadelphia vacation rentals are near a wealth of interesting museums for you to explore as a family. Music and art enthusiasts will enjoy the many festivals that take place throughout the year. These are usually weekend or week-long events where there are excellent music and entertainment combined with food and craft stalls. There are several casinos that provide endless gaming entertainment. Golfers have a choice of top-quality golf courses at which to enjoy 18 holes of golf. Philadelphia is also home to several major and minor league sports teams. Sports fans from all over the region often flock to the city when there is a big game.

Seasons to Travel to Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has a variable climate, depending on where in the state you are staying. Most of Pennsylvania enjoys a humid continental climate. Rain occurs throughout the year and heavy snowfall can occur in the winter months, especially in the far northwestern parts of the state. Philadelphia, because it is closer to the coast, benefits from a more subtropical climate. There really is no off season in which to visit Pennsylvania. Poconos resorts and Endless Mountain vacation rentals are a four-season destination, and visitors who enjoy snow sports will love the icy winter months when the state benefits from heavy snowfall. If you are wanting to explore the countryside, summertime would be a more ideal time to visit as getting around during this season is more convenient. It is advisable to listen to the weather reports when traveling as tornadoes frequently occur during the hot summer months. In the cities, the attractions of museums, shopping and entertainment are available all year round.
