  • Great place on Block

"wonderful time staying at the cottage. Karen (the owner) is lovely and was very accommodating. My son had a wonderful time feeding the ducks in the pod behind the house. We'd definitely go back!"

  • Great Location!!!

"Upon our arrival to BI, we were welcomed by the summer charm that only New England has to offer and eager to find our house. After a short drive down Old Town Road, we found the house was set back from the road, so we couldn't see it until we pulled up the driveway and it was PERFECT! The yard was bigger than expected and the deck was a huge plus for us. Many days were spent tanning and reading from the deck while the nights were spent eating/drinking outside. The house had everything you could possibly want or need for a great week and was very very clean. The beds were super comfortable as well as the couch and chairs in the living room. We woke up early and excited every morning ready to start the day and find our next adventure; walking, running, hiking, biking, or swimming at the beach. The house is within a short walk from restaurants and shops and close to many of the hiking trails. It was great to be able to walk into town, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. We can't wait to book another week for next year! "

  • A Perfect Spring Escape

"We chose this house for a small family reunion and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, complete and well laid-out. The moment we arrived, we felt 'at home.' Even better, the location is outstanding - a short (3 minute?) walk to Mansion Beach (best on the island), seclusion from nearby houses (while not isolated), and just a short hop from town make this house a real find. We also arrived unexpectedly during the height of spring migration. Sitting on the porch with so many trees around the house, it was like an aviary. One morning over coffee we identified more than 25 species! My family has rented houses on Block Island many times over the past 40 years and we all agreed that the combination of the wonderful house and great location made this our best stay yet. And I would hasten to add, that the owner's helpful responsiveness to all questions both in advance of the visit and during our stay was the icing on the cake. We will absolutely be back again. Thank you for making your wonderful home available!"

  • Great family vacation!

"The house and property had everything a family with 3 kids needs for a wonderful stay on Block Island--a selection of bedrooms upstairs and downstairs so that the kids could either have their own room or share, a fully equipped kitchen, big dining room table, TV/DVD player for watching a family movie in the evening, two big decks equipped with picnic tables and comfortable chairs for reading and enjoying the view and sunshine, and plenty of yard space. We walked every day to a nearby beach which was never crowded and was perfect for playing in the waves and sand. We were also within walking distance of the famous Painted Rock (and took our turn at decorating it on our last day on the island). Other beautiful beaches and fun activities are close by, and we enjoyed biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking on the Clay Head Trail as well as the Manisses animal farm, and ice cream and beanbag toss at The Oar. Bring a car if you have a young family. Thanks so much for the welcoming and comfortable accommodations, Catharine! We would definitely stay here again."
