  • Perfect and Worth It

"We've just returned from our second year vacationing at this stellar home, and we'll be back for a third. The house has a soaring, open layout with high ceilings, new appliances and commanding, unobstructed views of the ocean in front of you. The location far from town is perfect for those who truly want to escape and hear only the crashing waves, breeze and wildlife. The privacy is amazing, and you feel as if you are far, far away from reality. Everything you need is there. The beds and furniture are clean and super comfy. The decor is clean , modern and simple. Even with all that this beautiful island has to offer - we are content to just sit in the hammock most days and watch the ocean. And then, of course, the sunsets - the best I have seen anywhere. If there is only one thing I would change, it's the path down to the beach, which is well manicured but only part of the way - so be wearing shoes to manage the thorny bramble down there if you go. Once there you'll find tide pools filled with snails and crabs - fun for the kids. I can't say enough good things. The owners are very responsive and attentive to all the details without intruding at all. We cannot wait to go back."

  • "What an outstanding experience all around. My children and husband loved to watch the planes land, as well as the waves crashing in the ocean. I on the other hand enjoyed walking across the street and exploreing the great hikeing/ bikeing trails. The house is everything our friends and I could of wanted and the Colmans go out of their way to make sure everything is stocked and that you feel like it is your own home for the week. Dan and Danielle Thanks for bringing my kids and I closer!!! I know this house has been dream in the makeing for years and it shows. It is nice to not feel like another hotel number and we can't wait to return in July. See you next year. Lynn"

  • Great family vacation!

"The house and property had everything a family with 3 kids needs for a wonderful stay on Block Island--a selection of bedrooms upstairs and downstairs so that the kids could either have their own room or share, a fully equipped kitchen, big dining room table, TV/DVD player for watching a family movie in the evening, two big decks equipped with picnic tables and comfortable chairs for reading and enjoying the view and sunshine, and plenty of yard space. We walked every day to a nearby beach which was never crowded and was perfect for playing in the waves and sand. We were also within walking distance of the famous Painted Rock (and took our turn at decorating it on our last day on the island). Other beautiful beaches and fun activities are close by, and we enjoyed biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking on the Clay Head Trail as well as the Manisses animal farm, and ice cream and beanbag toss at The Oar. Bring a car if you have a young family. Thanks so much for the welcoming and comfortable accommodations, Catharine! We would definitely stay here again."

  • Perfect Wedding Weekend

"For our wedding weekend, my wife and I were looking for a way to have our entire family and wedding party in one area. The Jane Marie House and Inn at Block Island were perfect. We put our immediate families in the Jane Marie House (15 people 1 baby). There was a private master suite for my wife and I with its own bathroom and beautiful views. Most of the other couples had their own rooms, only a few people had to share. Plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms. The best part was, we had the entire wedding party stay right next door at the Inn at Block Island which is owned by the same people. SO CONVENIENT. The location is great. Very walkable to town and restaurants. Accommodations were better than we could have every hoped for, and Karen, the owner, was so great at communicating weather, and any potential issues before they arose. We are WITHOUT A DOUBT coming back to the Jane Marie House. Thoroughly impressed with everything this beautiful house had to offer."
