  • Perfect Summer Getaway

"Our group of seven (3 adults, 4 kids ages 16, 15, 10, 8) absolutely loved our week in this house. It is spacious, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, and filled with light. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need, even a big pot for cooking lobsters from nearby Zeke's fish shop. There was a big closet full of games and ample beach towels. The open great room/kitchen is great for hanging out, it is nicely decorated with quality furnishings, but not too fussy for a beach house. We loved the outdoor shower and grill, and the kids had a blast running around the huge backyard while the adults enjoyed drinks from the deck. There are three bedroom and a big bathroom upstairs; the second full bathroom and fourth bedroom are on the main floor. The location is perfect - two blocks to McQuades Grocery and the liquor store, three blocks to downtown including the Slide of Heaven bakery, six blocks to the waterfront and Spinnaker's Ice Cream shop. I would not hesitate to recommend this house and we'll be staying here again next time."

  • relaxing and cozy

"My husband and I visited this charming home in October with our 2 fur kids. Cindy was very accommodating and was available for anything we needed which we did not. There is a large yard area which was great for our little dogs.Tthis is an older cape house that has been totally renovated but maintains some of the elements of an older home - steps are a pitched a bit steeper then usual. However, once you were used to them, it wasn't a problem for any of us. The area offers an abundance of things to do if you want, or just relax at the house. The town beach is a 5 minute ride away and a nice area to visit for relaxation. Wickford village is nearby and worth a walk around and it's pet friendly! There is Narragansett olive oil there where you can purchase different oils and balsamic vinegars. Much to do in the area and plenty of great food if you want to eat out and nice resources if you want to stay in. We found that the Dave's market which is nearby offers many ready to serve/heat items whatever you may want- all of which is made in store, which was a great option for our staying in to dine. They even had numerous vegetarian options which made me smile :) The upstairs suite was cozy but if you are looking for a flat screen, it is an older set that works fine. Furniture is beachy - wicker etc. but might like something comfy to sink into. All in all , a nice place to getaway but still have access to many different areas- Newport/ Providence, etc."

  • just WOW

"This was a last minute find , we decided to vacation close to home this year and by accident found this listing , who had a last minute cancellation! Great news for us -- this was by far the easiest and best rental we had ever done! The owners where just Great and the cottage was perfect for our small family of 4 -- easy to get to , easy access to scotch beach about a .5 mile from the house , laundry on site , a/c , sat tv, and wi fi -- although somewhat spotty -- but hey your on vacation so why check email anyway? The property is large and the owner lives on site , but hardly noticeable , and the other Great thing is they own a cab company on the island so if you didn't want a car , you still could get around! This cottage was immaculately clean as well , and very kid friendly, you could even walk to the salt pond and see a great sunset. If you looking for a cozy Block Island retreat -- THIS IS THE PLACE! Definitely in our top 3 places to stay on Block!"

  • Property Manager's Eyeview

"This marvelous house was rented for the family of my grandson for his weekend wedding. In my over 15 years of property management in CA and FL, I have never stayed at a property that far exceeded my expectations of what a rental home would be. It is a beautifully maintained home that says "welcome" from the time you enter until you leave. It was so well equipped, that it surprised me. I have managed properties that charged so much more, that offered so much less. The little things you least expected where there. Forget your blow dryer, it was there. Need an extra pillow or quilt, it was there. Dinnerware, cutlery, cooking pots, serving trays, BBQ grill, marvelous furnishings...I could go on and on. I would highly recommend this home for anyone traveling in the area to rent for a wonderful family environment. Weddings, Anniversaries, special birthdays or great getaway. Close to shopping...but far enough away for privacy. Enjoy the balconies, decks, glass enclosed side deck. Beautifully landscaped, interior and exterior maintenance above par. Thank you for allowing our family to enjoy this venue for a very exciting time in our lives."
