chilly on the outside, but warm and toasty on the inside
"We couldn't have wanted anything more... Our 3 day stay during one of the coldest snaps of November was most enjoyable... Everything was there for us, from the well-stocked kitchen to the fluffiest, most comfortable beds... The views from this home, and access to the State Park were more than perfect... the dining room chandelier, the harvest table, the open concept of the living room, the family furnishings from long ago... Everything was meticulously well thought out to make your guests so comfortable. One wanted to meet the family and hear all the stories!! Thank you for one of our most memorable stays..."

Ideal setting for the perfect New England getaway!
"My husband and I spent two weeks on Jamestown in this adorable, homey apartment. Despite having lived in R.I. for 50 years, we had never spent any time on Jamestown before. We felt very much at home and took advantage of our proximity to Narragansett (go to Twin Willows for their fish n chips), Newport, Little Compton and Providence. Also, spent a day in Boston at the Museum of Fine Arts. The apartment had everything you would need and then some; my husband said that the kitchen was better equipped than ours back home in Florida. We were able to entertain family & friends easily. We had two dinner parties and a ladies' luncheon with 5 friends. The village of Jamestown is within walking distance; we would walk each morning to get the morning paper and a coffee-to-go from the corner market. Everyone we met in town was friendly and welcoming. Some afternoons or evenings, we would walk into town for exercise or burger 'n beers at the Narragansett Café where we also heard great live music (no cover). The desserts from Slice of Heaven wowed our dinner guests. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet. Betsy was easy to work with via e-mail and there were no surprises. Please note that there is a flight of stairs to gain entry to the apt. We are already planning to return. You will not be disappointed."

"Our first trip to Newport-- could not have been better. We felt so fortunate to be able to open the front door every evening and call this place "home" during our stay. The beautiful decor and warm colors welcome you in and make it hard to leave. Newport has so much to offer, it was a delight to be able to explore it all on foot from this home's perfect location. Our favorite casual restaurant, Brick Alley, was just around the corner.
Helen is an absolutely delightful host! It is obvious to anyone who gets to stay here, that she takes great pride in maintaining her house and doing everything to make sure her guests feel welcome.
If you are thinking of visiting Newport, think no longer about where to stay-- it doesn't get better than this!"

"I'm a bit late with this review, as we stayed here for a week over a month ago, but I didn't want to miss the chance to say how great it was. The location is ideal, steps from the main drag in Newport, so walking distance to just about anywhere. The house itself is as described, a wonderful cottage-type residence that is furnished with everything you could possibly need, in the kitchen and throughout. The stairs are somewhat steep, so be aware if that might be a problem for you. If we return to Newport, we'd go back to this house in a second! Thanks, Chris!"
