Beautifully appointed home in quaint New England town
"We rented this lovely house in July for a family vacation and 30th birthday celebration for our daughter. Not only is the house beautiful inside, the property is fantastic! Apple trees in the backyard, flower beds filled with all kinds of perennials, hydrangea bushes surrounding the house made it so fun to walk around, and for our 2 year old grandson and our golden retrievers to run around!
We were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement in the kitchen, cut from the gardens. We also loved watching the myriad varieties of birds who feasted at the bird feeders on the patio.
The downstairs has been completely refinished to high standards with granite counters and a fantasy steam shower in the master bath. My favorite room is the large living room at the back of the house that has cathedral ceilings, big fireplace, window seat and two sets of French doors overlooking the patio and busy birds. It was such a quiet place to relax with a book and feel totally at peace.
The kitchen is fully equipped for guests -- just bring your own food and your every utensil, container, pot, pan, serving dish is waiting for you.
There are plenty of towels and sheets provided and also all kinds of recreational items at the house (bikes, helmets, kayaks, beach chairs, etc.) so you don't need to pack your car to the gills!
We spent our days at South Beach, which is about 3 miles from the house and an easy bike ride. If you drive there plan on arriving early since parking spots are limited.
We went into Newport for our daughter's birthday, which is about a 45 minute drive so if you are looking for someplace close to all that Newport has to offer just know it is a bit of a jaunt.
We were particularly grateful that Perky allows pets in her lovely home. We knew that is a sign of someone with a big heart!
We loved our stay and highly recommend this Home Away from home! We were sad to leave!"

"We were so very pleased with our Close Cottage rental! Our group of four adults loved the location on the water, the cleanliness and amenities available and the welcoming feel the minute you walk through the door! We enjoyed early morning coffee in the sunroom, touring the area during the day, and making dinners in the well equipped kitchen in the evening. The beds had lovely linens and we all slept well after being outside for most of the day. The location of the cottage was perfect. If you like beach walks, finding beach glass, eating lobster, visiting Cape Cod, visiting Newport, hiking woodland trails, browsing through antique shops, stopping at roadside stands, visiting wineries and relaxing by the sea then this is the place to be. A big thank you to the owners for their excellent suggestions and sharing their lovely cottage!"

"The house was large with enough space for 5 adults and 2 teens. It was very convenient to the beaches and the center of town for our short stay. The owner was easy to reach and helpful. Thank you very much."

We stayed from Aug1-15 . The house was clean and comfortable
"We were a party of 9,mix adults and children. The very first thing you notice is the breath taking views of the cove and ocean beyond from every window. We all enjoyed walking down to the cove ,the kids loved looking for sea glass , small smooth stones and driftwood. The house's yard faced the cove, was great for relaxing in the late afternoon or early evening after a day at the town beach. The kids enjoyed the beach and yard as well . They liked kite flying and games of tag in the constant breeze we all enjoyed in the yard. The location was perfect too. Some of us went to Newport and others took the children to Battle Ship Cove on our rainy day. A trip later in the week to the Whaling Museum and lunch at the Sakonet Winery al fresco rounded out two beautiful weeks. I enjoyed having coffee every morning in the kitchen and watching the sun come up over the Atlantic in utter peace and quiet. The setting of the house is perfect, The Community of Little Compton is charming. If there is a draw back it this, although there is plenty of town beach space during the week if you plan to use the town beach on Saturday or Sunday arrive early."
