"Our family of 6 adults and 2 children happily returned to Cliffside this year for another terrific week looking out over the Sakonnet River. It was like a homecoming - we had confidence that everything we needed was right there, from ample towels, kitchen supplies and lawn chairs to where to find the best grocery stores and restaurants. We returned to our favorites around Newport and Middletown, and then explored further afield into Tiverton, which is charming, and Jamestown, which is a boaters dream.
The owner is great to work with being very responsive and straightforward with information and explanations and the pictures are very accurate except that they can scarcely do justice to the views. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, being very homey and not fussy at all, and she provides sets of towels in a different color for each person which is great so that folks don't easily get their things mixed up. Having a washer and dryer makes mothers very happy and makes it possible to not have to pack every piece of clothing you own in case of bad weather.
The boating and kayaking are fabulous, the fishing is excellent, biking, walking, swimming, EVERYTHING is great here, because there is something beautiful to see around every corner, and water, water, everywhere! Everyone talks about Newport, which is a great place to visit, but Battleship Cove just 20 mins away in Fall River is historic, educational and its own kind of amazing, and New Bedford has a great harbor and the Whaling Museum, and Tiverton has terrific farm stands and lovely shops and a most scenic drive with stone walls of all sorts of picturesque types around its agricultural areas. So the location of Cliffside is quite perfect for staying home to relax with a great view, or heading out in all direction of the compass to explore, or finding anything you need in a very short distance from the house.
We would absolutely recommend this property, and this owner to friends and relatives."
