  • Beautiful cottage near the beach

"Loved the house! Good location, about a block from the beach. Scenic views of the salt pond from the back deck. Everything in the house was great- excellent open kitchen with all high end appliances, big bedrooms that can easily sleep 10, 2 very nice indoor full bathrooms plus an outside shower. Comfortable couch and nice flat screen tv. A great sunroom with beautiful views. A new outdoor gas grill. Bikes and beach toys were great. All of the cooking equipment you would need- just buy your own food. Washer/dryer. Ceiling fans keep the house cool- no AC, but we didn't need it with the cool ocean breeze- it actually got a little chilly at night. The area is perfect for families- plenty of good seafood restaurants, ice cream shops. An old amusement park with water slides, mini-golf, go-carts, etc. about 1 mile down the beach. We road the bikes around the amazing neighborhoods- huge million dollar summer homes. The owner is great- any questions we had, he replied immediately. He had lots of tips for the area. They also supplied bedding and towels- just bring your own beach towels. Only 20 minutes to Watch Hill, 30 minutes to Narragansett, 40 minutes to Newport and 1 hour to Providence. Other activities include boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking."

  • Dog Friendly Family Reunion

"Grew up in Pawcatuck, CT, and now our entire family is spread out across the country...Virginia, Colorado, Maine and California. We yearn to be back in the area, and try to rent a vacation spot every year or so. We chose this Weekapaug home for it's beauty, charm, seclusion and of course, pet friendly! My husband and I were driving from Denver with our Golden Retriever, and my sister was driving from Virginia with her Yellow Lab. The rest of our party included our mom (79) and sisters/brothers in law. We found the home to be just as advertised, very quaint and welcoming. The yard is gorgeous, with plenty of room for the dogs to romp. The deck offered lots of relaxing seating, as there is also a bench wrapping around the deck. There is no home to one side of the property, so it is extremely quiet and private. We met our neighbors through the back yard, as they have two young kids that wanted to play with my young nephew...they were delightful! We found out that our mom went to high school with her mom, and knew many of the same people. Small friendly world! The kayaks (my personal favorite) were wonderful. We did have to transport them down to the pond, but the guys didn't mind. We would paddle out a ways and beach them, to walk to our own "private" beach...so gorgeous...saw beautiful Egrets along the way. The kitchen was more than adequate...my brother in law found two old rusty cast iron pans that he decided he would bring back to life. He seasoned/refurbished them (he is a foodie) and then cooked us amazing foods in these absolutely beautiful pans! (Jane, hope you like how they look now!) The items in the beach box at Fenway were great: plenty of beach chairs, toys, umbrellas. We tended to frequent Weekapaug beach instead, as it was basically empty since kids were still in school. Loved Weekapaug, the house, the area and the beaches. Great vacation!"

  • HOMERUN

"IT'S ALWAYS A BIT OF A GAMBLE WHEN YOU RESERVE A PLACE ONLINE, BUT THIS RENTAL WAS A HOMERUN!! EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR (AND EXACTLY AS IT WAS DESCRIBED IN THE LISTING). WE STAYED LAST AUGUST AND LOVED THE PLACE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FANCY, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU, BUT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR CHARM , CHARACTER , CLEAN, COMFORTABLE THEN THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL. MY FAVORITE PARTS : BEING ABLE TO STROLL TO THE BEACH ....AND ENJOYING A HAPPY-HOUR BEER IN THE YARD AT SUNSET WHILE MY CHILDREN PLAYED IN THE YARD. THE OWNER WAS ALSO A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. IT WAS EASY TO ARRANGE DETAILS AND SHE WAS VERY PROMPT IN REPLYING TO ALL QUESTIONS."

  • If you think you might enjoy . . . . .

"If you think you might enjoy your morning cup of coffee or tea on a patio surrounded by lovely plants and hummingbirds, with a beautiful view of the water; if swimming at a very safe and very private beach appeals to you; if listening to the muffled roar of the waves in the evening over a glass of wine, in the company of dear family and friends, then this special home is the rental for you. We have 9 people in our immediate family and there was room aplenty for everyone. Dinner at the Matunuck Oyster Bar in South Kingston, RI was to die for!"

Weekapaug Travel Tips

Why Not Consider Weekapaug Rentals for Your Next Trip?

If you are planning Rhode Island travel for your next family vacation, you may want to consider Weekapaug lodging as your accommodations of choice. Weekapaug is a small fire district within the town of Westerly. It is known for being a laid-back beachfront community and has been a popular destination since 1877. In fact, some Weekapaug rentals are historic buildings.

A Little Bit about the Area by Weekapaug Lodging

There are two large saltwater ponds near most Weekapaug rentals. Quonochontaug Pond and Winnapaug Pond are located just west of the beach areas. Both the ponds and the beaches are lined with rock jetties, mostly made of granite. When you stay in Weekapaug lodging, you will stay in a somewhat famous town brought to stardom by popular culture references. The band Phish wrote a song “Weekapaug Groove” and the town is also mentioned in a “Family Guy” movie called “Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.”

Lots of Sights for Rhode Island Travel

Once you have booked Weekapaug rentals, you will inevitably be planning the rest of your time in Rhode Island. There are many points of interest located near Weekapaug lodging and things to do in and around the area. Obviously, the beaches during the summer months are main attractions, so do not skip spending time at them. In nearby towns, you can take tours of historic homes, visit landmark lighthouses, and see the sights of beautiful New England.

Day Trips from Weekapaug Rentals

Rhode Island travel is essentially a day trip in itself, as the state is so small. However, there are plenty of day trips to be had from the Weekapaug area. If you love ocean life, think about heading to Mystic, Connecticut to spend the day at the aquarium. Mystic is also known for its marina and pizza. If you are looking for a change of pace but want to stick to Rhode Island travel only, think about heading to the beaches over in Charlestown and you will not be sorry.
