"If I could use decimal ratings, I'd rate our stay at the Minister's Lot Cottage a 3.8.
The house needs some TLC. Some of the windows did not open properly and some did not shut tightly. Light switches were missing hardware.
On the positive side, a very short walk to Lulu's Way will bring you to one of the best beaches on Block Island. The deck was sunny and inviting with a pleasant breeze and the ever-present scent of honeysuckle and ragusa rose.
Eileen was very helpful and promptly answered questions we posed.
If you want a no-frills, secluded, homey place to stay, with access to a long sandy beach, give this cottage a try."

"What a magnificent home! We loved our weekend in your perfectly comfortable home -- there were 11 of us ranging in age from 73 down to two years of age and we all had everything we needed. Plenty of bathrooms, cozy beds (loved the ironed sheets) and lots of room. Thank you to John and Helen who made us feel at home in their home, starting with the welcome gift of wine. We all would love to come back!! Thanks for helping us have some amazing family time we will never forget."

"Thank you for allowing my family to enjoy your lovely home. The best part of this home are the breathtaking views....the bird sanctuary which abuts this property is a nature lovers dream, we saw fox, coyote, deer, and all kinds of birds. Off to a distance the sound of the ocean, the ferry's coming and going, and all being just a short walk to the beach. You literally cross a street and you are there. Robin was terrific to deal with, so quickly answered any questions that arose. It was a fabulous vacation one that we would like to repeat. Thanks again!"

"Each year extended family plans a vacation to a different locale. This year we chose to stay close to home and stayed at 8 Antique Road in Matunuck, Rhode Island. The house is a Cape style and provided plenty of room for 14 of us.
The house was a ten minute walk to the beach (one minute by car) and the beach (South Kingstown Town Beach) was fantastic.
8 Antique Road provided plenty of parking spaces for the families vehicles and the yard was large. The linens supplied were fine and dishes and utensils were adequate. This house is not fully air conditioned. There are four units (kitchen, 2 bedrooms upstairs, and basement). The kitchen unit was at its max and still struggled to keep the area cool. Two bedrooms did not have units and made sleeping difficult as the week was extremely hot and humid. The furniture near the backyard fire pit was old and needs to be replaced. Sitting on the wood furniture near the pit was at your own risk as the wood was rotted. There was a new picnic table near the barbeque. There was a great deal of poison ivy growing in and around a tree in the driveway and on a tree near the fire pit so that area had to be avoided. The owner was great and responded quickly to our need to have a slow drain in the shower cleaned out. They promised to take care of the poison ivy later in the season. I would definitely recommend this property if you are looking to vacation in Southern Rhode Island."
