  • Nice little cottage with a big view

"My husband, myself and 2 teens stayed here last week, August 2014. The home is very practical, very close to Wheeler beach and has an extraordinary view off the back deck of the ocean. No a/c but with the windows open we had a lovely breeze. Outside shower was private and fantastic. The back deck provided plenty of space for dining with my extended family and everyone commented about the location and view. The kitchen had all the necessities and plenty of room for all we brought. The whole home was very clean-and I am very picky about these things. My family has done a week in Narragansett every summer since 2007 and I'd absolutely rent this home again! The home owners are very pleasant and easy to work with. My only suggestions to the owners would be to provide more photos of the bedrooms to show how roomy the place really is. I actually was delighted with the steps from the LR to both bedrooms and the privacy this provided. Also, I'd recommend providing sheets, blankets and beach towels for travelers. Otherwise, this little place is a gem! Thank you, J&L for a wonderful family week in your home!"

  • Perfect for a Wedding night!

"My husband and I reserved the Harbor Loft for the night of our wedding, and it was the perfect respite to come back to, after an amazing wedding celebration, and for some R&R. We had it for the following night, as well, and were thrilled with the location, privacy, and space. It's simply appointed, but clean, large and with plenty of space for a couple. It would also be great to share with another couple or kids, as there is also a second full bedroom. [But we weren't in the mood for sharing the space that weekend! ;)] The downtown Bristol location was perfect, not *too* close to the loud bar scene (although with windows open, we could definitely hear the Saturday night scene - the only downside), but we could still walk to dinner, the harbor, & along Hope (aka "Main") Street. Thank you Bristol Guest Suites!!"

  • You're gonna love it!

"We spent a week in this beautiful home for a vacation and reunion with our family, who live on opposite coasts. The first floor bedroom and bath were perfect for my dad, who has a hard time with stairs. We and our children stayed on the second floor, complete with its own TV/bonus room. When our little ones needed some quiet time or cartoons, we could accommodate them without disrupting the rest of the grown-ups or the socializing that was happening on the first floor. Then there was the third floor bedroom/sitting room, which helped when my brother and his family stayed for a night. This house can easily accommodate large groups, and is situated so that everyone can do their thing without getting in the others’ way. Yet, a smaller group won’t rattle around in this house. We were three adults and two children for most of the week and it was perfect. I can’t imagine a better flow or layout for a vacation home, it’s truly perfect for large or small groups. In addition, the décor is so tastefully done that it’s hard to believe this is a rental. Like the other reviewers have stated, the owners of the property are great communicators and easy to work with, and have thought of everything you might need, including a hair dryer and toiletries that you may have forgotten, sand toys for the beach and more. The linens are high quality too. Proximity to the neighborhood beach is great, the drive to Newport was totally convenient, and Jamestown itself is a delightful little town. I could go on... So if you’re on the fence or deciding between this property and another, don’t hesitate to commit to this one, you won’t regret it."

  • Comfortable and Nicely Decorated

"Ben’s house is comfortable and nicely decorated, and more than a good size for 2 adults and 4 teen girls. The girls had their own upstairs area with two bedrooms, affording the other bedroom with en suite bathroom adequate privacy without being too far away. It was the perfect setup. Plus, there is another bedroom downstairs that went unused. We cooked meals often at the house and the grocery stores are close and easy to get to. The kitchen is equipped with just about everything you need. Newport is close and we took a few trips in for shopping, sightseeing, dinner, and ice cream. The girls spent a shopping day in Providence as well while the grownups browsed the Brown University bookstore after eating lunch on Thayer Street. The sunrises and sunsets observed from the wall of windows on the top floor, or on the beach, were beautiful and worth setting your alarm for. We went at the end of August and it was the perfect end to the summer affording great summer memories."
