Very spacious and charming: Feels like home!
"I can't say enough positive things about this rental! I found this gem for a girls weekend and everyone was thrilled when we arrived. The only bad part was that we only had two days of vacation to enjoy it! First off, it was much larger and more spacious than I imagined. The whole upstairs apartment is very open with a large dining/kitchen area that tended to be our gathering spot for snacks, drinks, or just hanging out. The beds - every single one of us raved about how comfortable they were! I didn't stir once at night. There are two bedrooms upstairs (one sleeps three with bunkbeds, the other is a massive king.) The attached downstairs back apartment was great too - quiet and charming with a nice front bedroom and a futon with two mattresses. We had a group of older women with us who wanted a little more privacy and space, so we had them stay in the separate apartment in front which worked out great. I believe there were three bedrooms in there - very spacious. The best part of the house is the large pool and backyard - so much room for activities.
I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in a larger group that wants to be near Newport but not necessarily in town. The place is right next to a diner, two cafes, bars, Atlantic Beach Club and more. To get to Newport, we would just take a 10 minute cab into town which was always pretty easy.

"Our first trip to Newport-- could not have been better. We felt so fortunate to be able to open the front door every evening and call this place "home" during our stay. The beautiful decor and warm colors welcome you in and make it hard to leave. Newport has so much to offer, it was a delight to be able to explore it all on foot from this home's perfect location. Our favorite casual restaurant, Brick Alley, was just around the corner.
Helen is an absolutely delightful host! It is obvious to anyone who gets to stay here, that she takes great pride in maintaining her house and doing everything to make sure her guests feel welcome.
If you are thinking of visiting Newport, think no longer about where to stay-- it doesn't get better than this!"

"Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful week in Jamestown at "The Waves” cottage in June... The apartment exceeded all our expectations in every way... It was very private, super clean, and exceptionally well appointed... The apartment has all the charm and character of a Nantucket cottage with the added benefit of all the modern conveniences like an open layout, skylights, central air conditioning, and super fast wi-fi… The apartment has an amazing gourmet kitchen… Everything a cook could want is right at your fingertips from EVOO to fresh ground pepper… We found a wonderful local seafood shop in Jamestown called “Zeke’s Creek Seafood, Bait & Tackle”… The owner was super nice and the seafood was simply outstanding… We enjoyed cooking almost every night and couldn’t wait to get home… From pan seared scallops with fresh asparagus to Little neck clams linguine, and Lobsters on the grill… I can’t recall ever enjoying cooking so much while on vacation than our time at “The Waves”… It's only a short walk to downtown Jamestown and all the shops and restaurants… Also an easy walk to nearby Mackerel Cove beach and Beavertail State Park offering some of the most spectacular vistas along the New England coastline.... Historic Newport is just a short car or ferry ride away... We enjoyed an amazing day trip to Martha’s Vineyard… With two teenager’s, we spent our only rainy day at the Premium outlets in Wrentham, Mass which is less than an hour away and the girls couldn’t have been happier… After a day of shopping, we had dinner and took in a movie at the nearby Patriot Place located at Gillette Stadium. We would highly recommend a stay at "The Waves” cottage… It’s very clear that Betsy goes way out of her way to make everything very very special for all her guests... Already looking forward to next time…"

"Our family of four stayed here at the end of June and it was wonderful. We chose this house because of the proximity to the beach even though it had more bedrooms than we needed. I would say eight could stay there comfortably. There is plenty of room and it is nice and clean. They have a dishwasher, and a washer dryer which is really a plus. We have stayed in places where we have had to hand wash dishes with no washer/dryer so this was very nice. You don't feel like you are on vacation if you are constantly doing dishes in my opinion. We didn't do laundry the whole time but it was nice not to have to pack so much stuff.
My kids, 3 and 5, loved the yard. It is huge but also private. The decks are so nice, we ate outside everyday. I liked that there were a good variety of board games and lots of books to choose from too for those rainy days. The beach is great! It's an easy walk but with the kids we just got a weekly pass to the beach and drove back and forth. (They have a lot of sand toys and snacks and drinks and and...) We often went to the beach two times a day! The kids had a blast playing at the beach and running around in the yard. The both slept so well!
There is not much going on in Little Compton, which is why we chose it. It's not touristy at all, so nice. If you are looking for Mini golf and shopping malls this isn't the place. Although they do have some nice local shops in town and in the surrounding towns. I would stock up at the grocery store in Fall River then fill in items from the general store, the Bridgeport Seafood market in Tiverton (they have the freshest seafood and are really nice folks!) and the roadside farm stands. Grays is good for ice cream and in the nearby Westport MA there are some more great ice cream places. The vineyard is close and really nice and Buzzards Bay Brewing is around 20 minutes away. Nice selection of beers in an amazing setting.
The owner was very nice and quick to respond to questions. I would say if you want a low key vacation of beach, delicious food and drinks, then this is the place. Highly recommended!"
