  • Fabulous Multi-generational Family Vacation House

"Beautiful house that is children, pet, & elderly friendly. We just completed a fabulous week here with 9 adults (one 80+y.o.), 2 children under the age of 3, & dogs. There was a separate area of 2 bedrooms, bath, and tv area that worked great for the family with the small children. The yard is a real plus with room for the dogs to run & a swing set for the kids. Have been vacationing with our large clan for decades & this house was the absolute best fit. Thanks Robin!"

  • Great place for a family reunion/vacation

"We just spent a week there with 12 people ranging in age from 18 months to 70. It was pretty much perfect. As soon as you walk in, the view takes your breath away. There are plenty of different areas to hang out in the house as well as on the screen porch, in the sunroom, on the upstairs deck, on the lower deck... We appreciated the use of the kayaks, Sunfish, bicycles, and beach chairs and toys. Inside, it was not too difficult to child proof for a toddler -- bring plenty of outlet covers and a few bungee cords. The only drawbacks were 1) internet that worked intermittently when used wirelessly -- since we all had iPads we could not plug in the Ethernet cable, and a couple of the guys actually had to work while we were there, and 2) the two bedrooms under the kitchen hear every footstep above; bring earplugs or encourage your early risers to use the downstairs kitchen. Beaches are good; we mainly stuck to the local Charlestown beach as it's a short bike or car ride, and did not find it too crowded. You can kayak to Boater's Beach, which is totally secluded, but a long paddle (about 45 minutes). We got fresh oysters from the oyster "farm" right in Tautog Cove, near the house -- about a one-minute paddle -- yum! I think we'd all happily go back there!"

  • Perfect Summer Getaway

"Our group of seven (3 adults, 4 kids ages 16, 15, 10, 8) absolutely loved our week in this house. It is spacious, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, and filled with light. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need, even a big pot for cooking lobsters from nearby Zeke's fish shop. There was a big closet full of games and ample beach towels. The open great room/kitchen is great for hanging out, it is nicely decorated with quality furnishings, but not too fussy for a beach house. We loved the outdoor shower and grill, and the kids had a blast running around the huge backyard while the adults enjoyed drinks from the deck. There are three bedroom and a big bathroom upstairs; the second full bathroom and fourth bedroom are on the main floor. The location is perfect - two blocks to McQuades Grocery and the liquor store, three blocks to downtown including the Slide of Heaven bakery, six blocks to the waterfront and Spinnaker's Ice Cream shop. I would not hesitate to recommend this house and we'll be staying here again next time."

  • Charming and convenient!

"My husband, 2.5 yr old and I rented this charming cabin for a few weeks in June/July 2014. We could not have asked for a more charming, easy and conveniently located space. The Bonnet Shores Cabin is clean, well appointed and in a very quiet neighborhood close to the beach. Traveling with little ones is never easy - but, I have to say having the cabin made it much easier. My husband was able to work while my child and I played in the beautiful yard (filled with bunnies) or in what he called the "toy loft." What a treat for a little one! I was also able to relax. Moms almost never get a break, even on vacation. However, the convenience of having our own space, with a kitchen and laundry, and a source of sesame street (when required) made my life easy. Simple pleasures! I would highly recommend this rental to a couple or a small family like mine. It is a very cozy and relaxing space. Sitting in the yard at night was a romantic treat. This cabin is in walking distance to the beach which is always a plus. There is an adorable market on Boston Neck that you may get to by bike, feet or car. Narragansett pier area is approx. 5 miles south down Boston Neck. There you will find great casual restaurants like Monahan's Clam Shack, and finer dining options such as Turtle Soup, Trios and Basil's. The Picnic Basket is a great spot for sandwiches. Along the way are various spots for ice-cream (Brickley's), coffee, gas, manis/pedis, and even kayak rental. You can bike/walk to Narragansett Pier. And as a side bar - driving to Providence, Newport or Mystic is EASY from Bonnet Shores. The owners were kind and helpful. This was a peaceful and relaxing trip in spite of a small child. Again, we highly recommend this cabin and we will be back!"
