  • Yes at it's finest

"We enjoyed our stay very much. The isolation and seclusion was wonderful. I didn't think my wife and kids would enjoy it but its all they have talked about and want to return in July. Truly am enjoyable adventure of a life time."

  • Luxury Nature Conservancy

"Dewees calls to me and I would love to live there for several years. The homes are gorgeous, and the natural surroundings are inspiring. The beaches are first class, yet empty! We loved the alligators and bird life, but most of all the quiet, peaceful days, as life was a century or more ago. I find the Dewees community's commitment to preservation to be fantastic. More specifically, this house is a dream, and the owners and property managers made our trip easy and flawless. Stay at Dewees is you want some quiet time, some beautiful time.... you won't regret it!"

  • Can I go back righ now?

"We just returned from a week at this refuge from or hypersonic life. What a welcome break! I cannot say enough about the folks at Dewees Island Rentals. They met us at the dock and helped us load and unload our junk and took the time to answer all of our questions. The owner’s son knows all the crabbing/shrimping/fishing tricks and will show you. When I grow up I want to be him! We also met the happiest intern on the planet. What a life. Great Folks. The house is fantastic. If you like to cook, this kitchen is for you. The stand alone ice maker was a huge bonus. The many windows and surrounding trees made me feel like I was living in an upscale tree house. Loved sitting in the upstairs sunroom and watching the waves. Tons of natural light. Great screened in porches. KILLER master bath. The steam shower was awesome. The elevator really helped my older father get around. The owner’s have done a fabulous job designing and decorating this house. I could go on, let’s just say I LOVED THIS PLACE! If you are looking for bar hopping, shopping, and general noise, Dewees is not for you. Granted, the ferry can get you to those things quickly. This island is for unwinding, enjoying nature, sitting on a beach with no one other than your family, and going off line. I am telling you, we spent our first 2 days on the beach and maybe saw 5 other people. We saw dolphins, hammerheads, eagles, gators, snakes, raccoons, crabs, deer, shrimp, red fish, rays, trout, rabbits, flounder, pompano, and more birds than you can imagine. Shells, hermit crabs, starfish, and sand dollars were abundant. The flounder, trout, redfish, crabs, and shrimp made great dinners. I caught a 28” red fish at “six pipes”. The pool is nice and perfect for kids. I do not know if I have conveyed this but I had a wonderful time. Family, good food, great house, awesome location, and friendly people; what is not to like?"

  • Peaceful Retreat

"This property is nested between the colorful greenery of the saltmarsh and the sea. When you walk into the house, you will be drawn to the second level's great room and open floor plan. It is surrounded with floor to ceiling glass doors that open onto large screened in porches. The rocking chairs and hammock invite you to open a cold drink, take a deep breath and RELAX while becoming a part of the colorful landscape. This home is very clean, well equipped with kitchen supplies, serving pieces and clean, crisp linens. It is perfect for entertaining a crowd, and there are many seating areas inside and out. There is a large, comfortable hammock on the porch, and in the mornings we saw deer walking through to the marsh area. This is also a great observation area for bird watching, and we saw a bald eagle, an osprey, and many other grand birds. The rooftop "crows nest" is also a great lookout to get a 360 view of the island. The bedrooms are on the first level and the two master suites have their own private porches, while the other two share a porch. The beds are very comfortable and the master suite has a cute little outdoor room with a rug and futon. This home is located a short walk from the beautiful beaches. There are two golf carts that accomodate exploring, fishing trips, or traveling to the pool or tennis courts. We love this house and will be back. It is a good place to rejuvenate your soul and the owner was trustworthy and very kind."
